The Leaning Tower of Pisa

Thank you so much for the Florence recommendations! I’ve made an amazing wishlist from your suggestions and I can’t wait to explore. We flew into Pisa yesterday afternoon (a short 1.5 hour flight!) and made a little field trip to see the Leaning Tower.

I don’t have a life list, but it definitely felt like a life list moment. : ) I took a million pictures and can’t wait to share. Afterwards, we hopped on a train to Florence — 1 hour due west.

P.S. — I snapped this photo with Instagram. I’m gabrielle_designmom if you want to join me.

  1. Did you do the camera pose in which it looks like you are propping up the Tower? So silly, but it always makes me laugh.

  2. We went to Florence on our honeymoon. While we didn’t have a view of the duomo from our room, when I opened the shutters that over looked the city I felt the girl in the movie A Room with a View. Have fun exploring the city. I am sure you will be in heaven.

  3. isn’t it amazing? but the plaza with the market of ‘shlock’….not so much.

have a wonderful time in italy. I’ve been there 3 times, and each time its better than the last

  4. Florence is wonderful. We spent a day trip there while staying in Rome. I couldn’t tell you everywhere we went, but I find that European culture and museums are specatacular. Just enjoy yourselves and have a good time! It will make anything fun! I think the brige of gold is there? I’m not 100% sure, but that was a fun place for us to find treasures for our nieces when we visited.

  5. I JUST returned from Tuscany on Saturday evening. We also were in Pisa taking a plethora of photos of the tour on the 20th! I’m reading all the posts that I’ve missed this last week and my jaw pretty much dropped when I read that you were in Pisa/Florence the exact time! How crazy!! I hope you were able to enjoy your time in Pisa with all the hubbub of the Italian President visiting for the day. We couldn’t get over the amount of police everywhere. The weather was perfect on the 20th, hope you enjoyed your time as much as we did! Take care, Rachel in the Netherlands
