Did you see the Pop Up Desk DIY on the Building Blocks Blog? It’s so cute. And so doable!
I pin all sorts of projects on Pinterest — some that I will probably some day try, and others that I will never even pretend to attempt, but inspire me in one way or another, or maybe even spark another idea. But this desk I feel like my kids (I’m thinking Oscar and Betty) would totally make! And they’d love it too. It’s a perfect rain day/snow day project. Find the instructions here.
Tell me friends, what’s a project or recipe you’ve pinned or bookmarked lately that you actually plan to do? Or maybe have already done! I’d love to see what you’re up to.
P.S. — I’ve mentioned it before, but when Building Blocks first launched, I contributed several articles — like this DIY for a You Are Special Today Plate, and a recipe for a kid-friendly, french fry alternative.
I love this! One of my first ever ‘must make this’ Pins was for this gorgeous project (below) via Ikat Bag; DIY cardboard suitcases and homemade passports – so cute. I haven’t tried it yet – I suspect it will always be on my next-rainy-day list – but I love the idea :-)

While not meant to be a DIY, I saw some expensive wrapping paper with pompoms on it. Instead of buying it, my daughter and I will make this wrapping paper for her cousin’s birthday coming up soon!

I’m going to make some of these for gift giving this holiday season :)

We are in the midst of building a rolling toy bin for my son’s growing lego collection. Something he can use to display his built creations and then roll into the closet at night to satisfy my need for a clean and toy-free bedroom :).
Something similar to this…ours will probably be a little smaller.

I want to label my spice jars finally. It’s something I keep putting off. All my spices are in grey poupon jars with various handwriting scrawls of their contents. I want them to look more uniform. So I bought circular Martha stickers for the tops of the cute blue and red and white lids.
This link is just inspiration.

Love this desk idea! When I joined Pinterest, one of the very first things I ever pinned was a custom paint deck on stir sticks to keep track of the paint colors used in your house. This past month has been Project Paint Organization around my house and as part of that I finally made my own custom paint deck, but on craft sticks to make it a bit smaller and more portable. It was such an easy project, but so useful (and so pretty to look at :)).

You know what I love about kids? You can spend hundreds on toys to make them happy, and their favorite thing is a cardboard box! Love it.
