By Gabrielle. Images from Jaime C. Moore.
On the occasion of her daughter’s fifth birthday, Jaime thought and thought and thought some more about the perfect way to capture this age and all the hopes that go along with it. (She’s a photographer, and her pictures really are worth a thousand words!)
But instead of a pink princess theme, Jaime and Emma went a tad more realistic, honoring five women — five real women — who have changed Emma’s life for the better. Who have changed all of our lives for the better, even though we’ve probably never met them. Susan B. Anthony, Coco Chanel, Amelia Earhart, Helen Keller, and Jane Goodall.
In Jaime’s words, “My daughter wasn’t born into royalty, but she was born into a country where she can now vote, become a doctor, a pilot, an astronaut, or even President if she wants…I wanted her to know the value of these amazing women who had gone against everything so she can now have everything.”
This put a lump in my throat. Hope gets me every single time.
