Snow Scene in Old New York City

By Gabrielle. Vintage NYC pic here.

I’m on the go once again! First thing tomorrow morning, I’m on my way to New York for an event I’m working on with Lowe’s. I’m kind of geeking out about this project because it’s been so fun. For the last month, I’ve been knee-deep in holiday decor! I’ve even been listening to Christmas music to get in the snow-and-twinkle-lights mood. : )

For the event, Lowe’s is taking over a big open space in a Manhattan building, and creating a temporary house. Bedroom, Bathroom, Living Room, Foyer — even an exterior with shrubs and a Porch and a Front Door! They assigned the rooms to 6 designers, and we’re each furnishing the spaces, then decorating the house for the holidays. It’s been so much fun! I’m assigned to the porch and the yard. (Wreaths! Snow! Sled!) On Wednesday afternoon, we get to show off our work.

This is an event for Press/Bloggers, so I can’t invite my friends from my New York days to the actual space. But I promise to share lots of pictures in a future post, and I’ll do my best to Instagram everything as I go. If you’re curious and want to follow along with the event on Wednesday, the hashtag is #holidayreadyhome. (By the way, if you are Press and want to cover the event, you can request an invite by emailing Kelly.)

I can only handle a short trip right now, so I’ll be back on Thursday. But it’s always a true joy to spend time in New York — especially New York in the fall!

P.S. — I’m actually in need of a local NYC stylist to help me with this event — and to run some errands and source some props while I’m in the air tomorrow. Can I hire you? Pretty, please? If you’re a stylist and are available on Tuesday (picking up props) and Wednesday (styling the space with me), please let me know. I’ll send you a task list before I board the plane tomorrow.
