Knitted Jewelry from Rachel Faucett

Note from Design Mom: While I’m busy with the move to France, I’ve got a crew of talented Guest Moms filling in for me.Rachel is back with another great find for us today. This one would make a sweet Valentine gift. Enjoy!

As knitting and crocheting fill the fashion world with new twists on centuries-old crafts, Tanya Aguiniga takes it a step further and adds knotted rope to the mix with her Unraveled Cotton Rope Necklace line.

How does she make simple rope look so good? The trick: the rope is unraveled, giving the necklace a thick, heavy texture and smooth, bulbous movement. Each necklace is hand-dipped in dye, so some sections are darker than others, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind.

The necklace is available in small, medium, and double (pictured above)–all handmade to order. These necklaces are not simply a piece of jewelry, but a unique piece of wearable art.

    1. I’m not a fan, either. I hadn’t thought of the intestines… and I appreciate the artist’s intent… but it’s not for me.

  1. I feel like I need the Jersey Knot Bracelet. Not only do I just love it, but I hope to one day soon move my family out of this State (which I love to hate) and the bracelet would be a great souvenir of sorts.

Boo for me, it is sold out.
