Have you already fallen in love with Brooklinen? They’re pretty new on the scene, but they totally have a cult-like following — we’re talking over 12,000 five-star reviews on Google, winner of “Best Online Bedding” category by Good Housekeeping, and consistently claimed to be “hands down the best sheets I’ve ever put on my bed” by Business Insider (and maybe you!).

Essentially they’ve reinvented the way people shop for their bedroom. There are no physical stores, no middlemen taking a cut, and no brand markups. Instead, Brooklinen designs its own luxury-grade basics and sells them directly to you and me, exclusively on their website.

I’ve tried out their bedding, their towels, and most recently their throw blankets, and I want to tell you why I think they’re so special. Let’s start with the clever name — Brooklinen is based in Brooklyn. : )

Brooklinen has simplified bedding purchases. They know just what you need and bundle it up for you to make things easy. The bundle I ordered came with a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, 2 pillowcases, a duvet cover and 2 extra pillowcases. The prints are simple, modern, and handsome — and you can mix and match patterns to your heart’s delight, even within the bundles. The fabric is crisp and smooth and feels so great on my skin.

When Brooklinen talks about quality, they have five things in mind: long staple fibers, single ply yarn, 80 and 60 yarn threads, quality thread count, and unique finishing. (If you’re curious, those factors are all explained in detail here.)

They offer a luxury product, but keep price-points accessible. It’s all about cutting out the middleman, and then manufacturing responsibly and efficiently. They’ve streamlined the process so they can focus on creating products you’ll love. Then they send it off to you in the most charming packages — little cardboard suitcases, and reusable heathered totes.

Brooklinen’s throw blankets are the detail your sofa has been missing. Summers in the Bay Area are much chillier than you would guess, so throw blankets are essential year round at our house. Right now my kids are favoring the Baby Alpaca Throw. It’s woven from Peruvian eco-friendly Alpaca, and it’s soft, cuddly and perfect for lounging. Plus, I love the plaid!

When they want something thicker and heavier, my kids reach for the Wool Blanket in Greige. It’s handmade in Germany by a 100-year-old family mill, from soft virgin lambswool. It’s that perfect shade of grey, and it looks good in any room in the house, so I don’t mind when it migrates from room to room as the kids inevitably wander around with it.

Once they mastered bedding, Brooklinen ventured into towels, and I’m impressed. Again, they’ve kept the offering simple: Super-Plush towels in four easy-to-love neutrals.

They’re made from 100% long-staple Turkish cotton — and at 820 grams, these are the plushest and coziest towels on the market. Plus they’re manufactured with a special “Z twist” terry weave that helps the towels hold their shape without unraveling.

For our six kids, I like to stock their bathroom with 8 bathtowels, 8 handtowels, 12 washcloths, and 1 bathmat. That’s enough to typically get us through a week of showers and hand-washing. Then the towels go through the laundry, and we start all over again.

If you’re a scented candle lover, I highly recommend their AM to PM set. It’s new to their product line-up, and it’s such a great idea. There are 4 candles in the set, and each scent evokes a particular moment in your day.

Wake = the fresh smell of the ocean
Magic Hour = the smell of a sunlit rose garden
Dusk = the scent of a cabin in the woods
Nightcap = aromas of bourbon and blood orange

I like to keep Wake on the bathroom sink, and light it as I’m getting ready for the day. Dusk lives on my nightstand, and I like to light it as I’m settling down for the evening. Olive says her favorite of the four scents is Nightcap. And if you don’t want to buy them as a set, you can get each scent individually in a full-size option as well.

Don’t you just love when a company figures out how to do things better? And changes up a whole industry? Do you have a favorite Brooklinen product?

  1. Hello! This sounds great and I would love some really great sheets. But I live in Germany so two questions from us here in Europe: 1) Do they ship to Europe and 2) What size are the duvet covers and sheets? What does King/Queen mean in cm? We typically have a double bed which contains two matresses and two duvets here – so each partner has a mattress about 1 m x 2 m or so – what size would that be?

    Thanks!

    1. I hear you. They’re priced really well compared to luxury competitor products, but I get that they’re not in the bargain category. If it helps, we’ve been using basic cotton bedding from Ikea in the girls’ bedroom and they’ve held up really well — just stick to the 100% cotton options.

  2. I love Brooklinen’s sheets so much. I just bought a new set for our son’s room that has become the guest room, as he was married last December. Last year, I bought a set for our bed, and now they are the only sheets I will use. The other sheets have become “ paint sheets”, used to protect furniture when we paint. I plan to start buying another set after Christmas, so I can alternate them ( usually, I just wash them and put them back in the bed). I love their crisp yet soft texture, as well as the labels they use to indicate the long side and the short side of the sheet, which helps when you are making the bed. They have been washed multiple times, yet they keep their wonderful texture as if they were new. So comfortable to sleep in. Sorry if i’m gushing, but I’m a big fan of these sheets.

  3. I’ve heard of them but I’d love to know about longevity. Rave reviews always seem to be within a year then you never hear about it again. How long are sheets supposed to last?? My mum has sheets from before she was married (42 years). I can barely get VERY GOOD QUALITY sheets to last a year (I find that cheap sheets last longer than the high quality ones) How long/how many washes should I expect to get out of Brooklinen sheets before having to replace them?

    1. That’s such a good point about reviews.

I’ve been using my Brooklinen sheet set daily since January 2017, with frequent washing, and they’re as good as new. I hope that helps!

  4. Gorgeous… can’t wait to try Brooklinen now! Can you please share where you found your lovely, lovely sconces by your bed?

  5. I’m curious as to how you like the absorbency of the towels..? I bought a set with a promo code from another blog and while they’re certainly the fluffiest towels I’ve ever bought, 4 washes in (and following the laundry guidelines to a T!) and they’re still leaving lint on my skin and just don’t feel absorbent at all. I haven’t completely given up (and the company has been great with reaching out to me and following up, etc), but it’s something I’ve never experienced in my 25+ years of buying bath towels.
