Last month I received an email about a new-to-me service called Boxed. It’s essentially an online wholesale club. I already belong to a wholesale club, so I didn’t pay much attention to the email, until I read this: “Did you know an average trip to a local warehouse club takes over 180 minutes? Boxed gives you back 179 of them.”

And then a little ding-ding-ding went off in my head, and I had this realization that I had only been to the warehouse club maybe twice since we moved here over two years ago. It’s just so inconvenient. The warehouse is out of the way of my normal errands, and it takes so long to shop there! Big store, long lines, bored kids. I realized that I avoid it these days. At which point I thought, Boxed sounds like something that I would actually use. I’ll totally give it a try. So I did. And it is awesome.

First of all, it’s super fast. It’s fast to find the items I wanted on their site — they carry all the brands and products that I already love buying in bulk. And delivery is fast too. I ordered on a Thursday, and it arrived on Saturday.

Second, Boxed saved me time, gas and money — there’s no fee to use Boxed, which means you save an average of $50 not paying for wholesale club membership fees. The money savings is always great, but the time savings is what made me jump for joy. I felt like I had just been gifted two hours. And the convenience factor is huge for me. One big box showed up on my doorstep. I didn’t even have to unload my car!

I can also tell you it was a fun box to open! Everything you see here came in one package. I was amazed it all fit in with room to spare! The cleaning products: Mrs. Meyers dish soapTide podsSeventh Generation dishwasher packsSwiffer dusters. The toiletries: An 8-pack of toothbrushesListerine mouthwash, and cotton rounds (these are my favorite for makeup removal!).

And there was food too: Maple SyrupDang coconut chips, and some little caramel waffles.

If you are a fan of buying bulk from the warehouse, but you dread the actual errand, I think you’re really going to like Boxed. And hey, use the code BOXEDDM and you can receive 15% off, plus free shipping with a minimum $65 order. This offer is good till 12/31/2015!

By the way, I mostly focus my warehouse shopping on cleaning supplies and toiletries, but if you check out the site, you’ll notice Boxed also sells a wide range of all-natural, organic and special-diet snacks and groceries (like gluten-free, and dairy free). We tried a couple of those too, and I can already see we’re going to be long-time fans of Dang Coconut chips.

All right, now I’m curious. Do you ever shop at wholesale warehouse clubs? Does it take you as long as it takes me? And do you like shopping in bulk for food, or do you focus on things like cleaning products or home products? If you try Boxed, I’m also curious to know if you like it as much as I do!
