Little Hoot just wants to go to bed. But no. Poor Little Hoot. His parents require him to stay up all night and play. Play. Play. Play. He is not allowed to go to sleep until the sun rises.
And that’s pretty much all you need to know, because how could a book premise be more charming than that?
Oh. And you also might want to know that the book was written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, with illustrations by Jen Corace — both talents of gigantic proportion. I love being able to bring their work into my home.
Plus also, you might want to know that there’s a sort of companion book called Little Pea by the same author/illustrator combo. Little Pea just wants to eat his dessert: spinach. But no. Poor Little Pea. His parents require him to eat 5 pieces of candy for dinner before he can have dessert. . .
P.S. — The best looking board books for toddlers.
