A Few Things

Hello, Friends! How are you? Are you ready for this weekend? Last weekend, the amazing Wendy of Blue Lily Photography came to our home here in Normandy, and we did the funnest family photo shoot. And today I have pictures to share! I’m so excited!!

Ben Blair and I found a little vintage car to rent for the shoot, put everybody in their Christmas finery and set out on a country road near our home. Then, Wendy worked her magic. And I LOVE how the pictures turned out!! I’ve included 10 of my favorites here. While I grin and grin at that cute car (and those cute kids!), here are a few things I’ve been wanting to share with you:

– Christmas isn’t Christmas without a reading of Six to Eight Black Men.
– Love this Kirtsy slideshow. Am I the last to know about glass straws?
Gingerbread trees.
– My picks for frame-worthy calendars.
Hot pink.
– This talk blew my mind.
Thank you, Disney!
Instead of bows.

I also write for Babble. Here are this week’s posts:
– Ready for New Year’s? Here are 25 sparkly pieces to inspire your party outfit.
– What’s the cleverest holiday card you received this year?
– Made of 100% wool with interchangeable clothes. So cute.
– Decoration that will make you want to party!
– A gorgeous new online magazine all about entertaining.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and Merry Christmas! I’ll mostly be off next week but will definitely check in with a post or two. I’ll meet you back here soon. I miss you already!

kisses,
Gabrielle

P.S. — Don’t stress, it’s all staged, I promise! We didn’t really drive around town with the kids on the car. : ) See the photos in bigger sizes here.

  1. The pictures are beyond adorable!!!! You are a master planner of family photo scenes. Just gorgeous!

And that TED talk…amazing!!! Had to share it on fb.

  2. Oh my goodness I LOVE your Christmas photos! They are brilliant, you guys look like an ad!:) Wishing you and your family a very blessed Christmas holiday:)

  3. Love the color palette: bits of red, gray, and white but not matchy-matchy! What a treasure to have photos like that of your family! Happy Holidays!!!

  4. Wow, some great links! The Sedaris piece had me in stitches – so good. And the Disney piece… thank you indeed, Disney. And thank YOU for supporting it!
Your pictures are fantastic. Merry Christmas!

  5. Are you even kidding me??!! How on earth does everything you do just get better and better and more creative! I love these and I think they are the perfect memory for your French Christmas! Joyeaux Noel!

  6. Awesome car – awesome photos! Have to vote with you all holding hands tailing the car as the best overall. Love some of the car window shots, but then you don’t see the whole family. The fact you can all get in a vintage car is an amazing feat in and of itself! Happy Holidays!

  7. Beautiful family and lovely photos! I love everything from the car to the presents on top of the car. And, it looks like you all had fun during the photo shoot. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

    Cheers,
    Kristina

  8. You’re photos are magical! Also, thank you so much for the Disney link. I am LDS, and homosexuality is a divisive issue among church members (as I’m sure you know). The basic virtues of compassion and Christ-centered love get lost in the arguing. Thanks for bringing it back to what’s really important.

  9. Did you post about that David Sedaris essay last Christmas? I listened to his reading on YouTube. The TED talk was amazing and I loved the Disney video. Thank you for the comedy, technological inspiration and heartwarming videos/messages all in one post. Perfect clips for my Christmas eve morning in bed. Merry Christmas!
