Hello, Friends. Welcome to Summer! How are you doing today? Ben Blair and I are headed to Las Vegas for the wedding of our niece, Lindsey. I believe this is the first of three weddings this summer for Blair nieces and nephews. Maybe our family will call this the Summer of Love. : )

We’ve also got the usual weekend busy-ness ahead. A photoshoot for work. Play practice and swim team. Plus Betty and Olive will get home from Girls Camp.

How about you, any plans? Any road trips? Any water balloon fights?

I’m going to switch gears for a second. I want to thank you for your comments this week. I really appreciate being able to discuss the headlines with you. I’m so grateful for this community. Please consider this week’s link list a little thank you from me to you. I found some really good stuff!

Here are a few things I’ve wanted to share:

– “Too many of us ignore black pain while embracing black art.”

Color Factory is coming to NYC!

– A Republican argues that the media has an “undeniable pro-Trump bias.” Would you agree? I found the referee metaphor compelling.

– Woah. A brilliant essay on how we manipulate language.

– Beyoncé and JayZ surprised the world with a new album, and they filmed a video for one of the songs in the Louvre. (Language warning.) It’s amazing. Tons of good commentary on it out there. I liked this thread.

– The new season of Queer Eye is out. I’m 3 episodes in. It’s like a balm for my soul.

– What if we treated violent crime the way we treat Ebola? (WP)

– The intricate process behind the graphics for Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs.

– Obsessed with my new cherry earrings. And they’re on sale too. (They look cuter on than they do in the basic product shot, I promise. I shared a photo of me wearing them on Instagram stories and got a ton of source requests.)

– Wow. The most effective political candidate video I’ve ever seen. MJ for Texas!

– Camping plans this summer? A helpful post on how to cook on a campfire.

– Mr. Rogers had a simple set of rules for talking to children.

I hope you have a really good weekend. I’ll meet you back here on Monday. I miss you already.

P.S. — I didn’t include any articles about immigration in this list, but I have been updating yesterday’s post with more links as I come across especially good ones.
