But I loved watching everyones adorable Instas pop up this year, seeing a baby in a costume is the best!

We have a 2/3 piece policy the night of trick or treating, then combine it all dontate the majority of it to the soldiers.

Plus, all of my old costumes are back in the States at my parents’ house. We’ve never had trick-or-treaters either in the 3 years we’ve been in our town here in Hampshire. Sad. Probably the reason our son’s penguin costume from last year is now worn as pyjamas…

Other people in the neighborhood do cotton candy and someone else does homemade rootbeer. It’s a fun neighborhood, but I think the donuts take the prize ;). This year we went through almost 400 donuts! We have cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, and chocolate glaze to dip the donuts into. This year we also did our holiday card in October in our Halloween costumes. The husband and I were bank robbers, our baby girl a bag of money with a dollar bill bow, and our (miserably tolerant) cat was a little police officer. The family loved getting an early and different holiday card. Halloween is our favorite.

Some of the staff got a huge shock and screamed /yelled. It was fantastic!!! Halloween is becoming more popular here in Australia,so I decorated our front door with cobwebs. Lots of kids out for” Trick or Treat”
Cheers

The 6 kids who came to my house got a lot of candy lol!!!

If you’re looking for the ideal (but not to big) big and little kid friendly few blocks for trick or treating check out Haight Ave on the West side of Alameda. The 300 block rocks! The “Haighers” really go all out. (we live a couple of blocks away and feel super lucky to be so close but not right there)

You can keep it really short if needed — a little goes a long way.

If we get organized to leave early enough, the kids can make a stop at daddy’s office to show him their costumes. We’ll be home early as my little Rainbow Dash, Rapunzel, and dinosaur (love his little “rawrrr”) are 6, 4, and 1. I’m looking forward to sneaking a piece or two of candy after they are in bed :)

We also live on a street that doesn’t get trick-or-treaters! It’s actually nice when you have kids, because then both parents can go out, and one doesn’t have to stay behind to pass out candy :)

Sometimes by kind (chocolate vs fruit). But other times I just sort it by color because it looks so pretty! : )

I love when we can repurpose a costume. Makes that initial investment of time/money worth it.
