Playful Learning Giveaway (Plus, The Container Store!)

August 27, 2012

I have an excellent back-to-school giveaway for you today! You will love it, I’m sure. Playful Learning is offering an awesome 3-piece prize worth over $200. One lucky winner will receive: 1) A spot in the Playful Learning Spaces eCourse, 2) a copy of the Playful Learning Book, and 3) a $100 gift card to The Container Store!!

Playful Learning has excellent tools to help parents play with their children in meaningful ways. They offer classes, a book, and a helpful blog too! Plus, their website is gorgeous, and is simply a joy to visit. I’m such a fan of Mariah Bruehl. She’s the creator and scholar behind the Playful Learning line. (I mentioned how much I love her book here).

What a great prize! The book and the Playful Learning Spaces class will help you explore and share ideas for creating areas that invite children to engage in reading, writing, science, art, and more. You’ll also learn about organization, storage, and selecting materials for different ages and stages of child development.

The generous Container Store gift card is a bonus! It’s a way for people to put the the basic principle of the Playful Learning Spaces eCourse to work in their home.

Extra fun: Design Mom readers can get a 30% discount on any Playful Learning Ecademy offering if they use the code DESIGNMOM within a week of the giveaway. Sweet!

To enter, visit Playful Learning and leave a comment below. The winner will be announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Kamille Bauer is the lucky winner. Thanks for playing!

I had not heard of this company before now. The idea of an e-course that never expires (to learn at my own pace/as time allows) sounds wonderful.

This was super inspirational. I love how the site validates play, takes it seriously and also keeps the joy of play alive. Truly impressive. I teach my children at home and this site has provided me with ideas on how to keep play as our focus even while we are “doing school.” Amazing. The courses look fantastic!

43 Becca August 27, 2012 at 3:24 pm

When we brought our son home from Korea six months ago he was 19 months old. Old enough to have basic language skills and strong emotions, but not old enough to understand constructive ways to express those emotions. We’ve had a lot of blow-ups and tantrums in six months. Things are getting better, but I’d love something like the Social and Emotional Learning ecourse, to help me know how to teach him to recognize his own emotions, and then deal with them in non-violent ways.
