We’re on our way home today.
Home is funny thing, isn’t it? It felt like home when we flew to the U.S. a month ago, and it feels like home to be flying back to the farmhouse — and our regular schedule — in France. What feels like home to you?
I saw this Paris print by Jennifer Hill in my inbox this morning, and it got my heart pumping. Paris is always a good idea. : ) You can see Jennifer’s other landmark prints here. (I like the Las Vegas one.)
P.S. — Last night, I tossed and turned, having dreams about lost phones and Baby June feeling fussy on the plane. I suppose I’m nervous about the flight today. Please wish us luck!

“Ahh, Home
Let me come Home
Home is wherever I’m with you”
Home is always wherever my husband and son are. Safe travels!
Home is where ever your heart is. :)) Every time I go to Bosnia I feel like I am going home, and each time I am returning to the States I feel like I am coming home. I guess it could be several places at once.
Have a safe flight.
Good luck, bon chance! Bon voyage! Truly… your families adventures, and your optimism, creativity, and sharing are such a highlight of my internet time!
Wishing you a safe and peaceful journey!
Is everyone as excited to get back to French food and culture as they were when returning to the US?
This print is great! Vibrant and different. Love it!
Hope your trip home goes smoothly. I like those landmark prints!
So well expressed. I too feel as if I am going home every time I go to South Africa and then again when I go back to the states. Good luck with your flight!
I wouldn’t be sleeping if I had to do a flight that long with just myself, let alone a whole family! If you end up passed out on Xanax, I don’t think anyone would judge :)
Have a safe, quick, uneventful trip!
For me, especially since I started moving more at the end of high school, home is wherever I live: Baltimore, Provo, North Carolina…it all feels right. Good luck with your travels today, and here’s hoping you don’t get too jet-lagged!
We are pretty gypsy like in our lifestyle so home is where ever I am at with my girls and my husband.
p.s. love the print too!
It took me a long time to stop calling my childhood home (Florida), home. I think I finally called New York City home about 10 years in. Now I live in Ct and it felt like home immediately. I think having my son (now 21 months) made it feel like home instantly.
Home is where your loved ones are – I say this because my fiance and dog and I have had a pretty eventful past two years. We don’t have a permanent home right now :(, but I feel like home is where ever we all happen to be together.
These are gorgeous, I love that Eiffel Tower Print – I have a few different ones and I just realized I kind of have a collection of them.
I hope your family has a safe trip back to France.
safe travels, indeed! look forward to hearing all about your uneventful travel!
Have a wonderful trip back to France. It was so great to have you here for a
little while. You are great “deal with it” people in reality and I’m so proud of you all.
You also bring fun and happiness along with marvelous ideas. I love to think
of the older children shrugging their shoulders with “We’ll deal with it!”
That’s the attitude!
love and bon voyage!
safe travels home! it’s not easy traveling with a big family! we just moved here to Paris 2 weeks ago and have been living in a hotel with our 4 children until our flat is ready…my 3 year old says “Home!” every time we walk through the hotel door! bon voyage!
Safe travels and welcome home!
You are probably home by now…hope the voyage went well…Home is definitely an interesting term…it is where the heart is, but also where we choose to stay for a while…now in my 40′s, I think of having many homes and have fond memories of many special places I called home. I suppose the definition of home changes as we grow older…I know we have lived here almost a year now, and my girls still consider Saratoga, NY home…we will see in time how that changes…
I’m the same way about the concept of home. When my parents moved from my hometown, where they’d lived my entire life, to a different town in the same state, I never felt at home when visiting them. And I never felt at home when I visited my hometown because I was always visiting someone there.
Now I’ve bought my first home in a completely different state (I live in Oregon), and just last month, my parents moved back to my hometown. I just got back from a visit to their new home, and I have to say, I’m thrilled to see people and places that are familiar, but it still didn’t feel like home.
Only when I flew back to Oregon was I thrilled to be back home.
Ahhh France. I would love to take a bit of time out this summer to go there. You are lucky to be living in the French countryside! Safe travels back to France!

(and need a wall print of Sydney!)
Those are beautiful prints. I have my heart set on Kiev now, since we adopted our children there. I adore the Vegas print too – reminds me of It’s A Small World. :) Safe travels!
Hope you have had a safe journey. I like the DC one best, I think. Something about the monochrome makes it really simple and effective.
Oh I love this print- for our new house we’re planning a Paris-themed bedroom for Ivy!

I know what it’s like to have two homes. I’m a Brit in California. When we went to the UK in March, it felt incredible to be ‘home’ again and I felt so very comfortable. But coming back to California felt equally like ‘home’ and I slotted back in effortlessly. What a blessing to have two places we can call home.
Home is a funny thing. My little family is in the middle of a trantsition–moving to another state. Right now “home” is my brother’s spare bedroom. It’s working out OK, but we can’t wait to close on our townhouse in two weeks (even though that will also be transitional).
Being in a new state is fun, but my birth state will still always feel like home to me.
