Maybe even more for myself than for the kids – I’m the family pessimist I guess. Thanks for sharing!

Unfortunately the party is in Florida.” I love the illustrations in “Fortunately,” but some of Ned’s mishaps may be a little too scary/violent for young kids (his plane crashing, being chased by tigers…).

Once one kid or parent has a sour disposition, it’s contagious! I feel a responsibility as mom to steer the mood, so if one child is unhappy or whining, I try to nip it in the bud, either by distracting them with something else, singing, playing a game (despite our location, most any situation can be turned into a game), or if all else fails, tickeling/snuggling with them (my kids are all quite young, so I can get away with this!).

Lovely illustrations & I love how this book is simple to read, while teaching some great concepts.
