I was JUST going to make the same comment — I’d recognize those steps anywhere. They are the best. YUM!

Let me just say, yes, I wish I was there, too!

4 Jillian In Italy April 10, 2012 at 7:56 am

Gelato is a healthy part of every Italian’s daily diet. So make sure to get at least a few in a day! If you see Salted Pistachio flavour give it a try…it’s delicious!

5 Design Mom April 10, 2012 at 9:40 pm

Salted pistachio? That sounds amazing!

6 Helen April 10, 2012 at 9:39 am

So jealous! If you get a chance, the absolute best gelato in Rome is Gelateria Old Bridge, near the Piazza del Risorgimento. It’s behind St. Peter’s Square, near the entrance to the Vatican Museum. Incredible portions at an amazing price, and all made on site. Soo delicious!

Have a marvelous trip!

10 Design Mom April 10, 2012 at 9:41 pm

Thanks for the tip, SarahBeth!

11 michelle April 10, 2012 at 12:41 pm

What a fabulous photo! Love! It makes me a little sad that I won’t have a pack of my own strawberry blonde/auburns but I am so glad that I am getting to track yours around the globe!

Where’s June?

13 Design Mom April 10, 2012 at 9:41 pm

June is asleep in my arms while Ben Blair snapped this photo. : ) She’s being such a good sport. Traveling for little ones can be hard!

14 Kirsteen April 10, 2012 at 1:59 pm

Beautiful photo! Looks like you’re having lots of fun x

Are you here? You know that we moved to Rome in January! I’m in love with this city. Enjoy !!

17 Design Mom April 10, 2012 at 9:42 pm

Yes! We’re here and having a great time.

18 My Name is Jacy April 10, 2012 at 4:59 pm

ME TOO!!!!!! Looks fabulous! Enjoy it for the rest of us, will ya?? ;)

19 Joan April 10, 2012 at 5:54 pm

OK, I gotta ask… Where’s June and who’s the mystery child? Oh, and… Great photo! Great spot, great colors… Could be a staircase in any random, Italian village. You’d never guess that this was Rome.

20 Erin W April 10, 2012 at 7:13 pm

I was wondering the same thing!

21 Megan April 10, 2012 at 8:02 pm

Yes, who is that adorable extra girl to the family?

22 Design Mom April 10, 2012 at 9:44 pm

Hah! Great question. I didn’t realize I forgot to share! Our wonderful niece is staying with us for a bit and joining in our travels. Her name is Roxcy and she’s my brother’s daughter. We’re so glad to have her with us!

23 Megan April 11, 2012 at 8:04 am

I knew she was related! She looks very much like you. What a time she must be having! I also had a cool aunt and uncle who took me traveling when I was about her age, lucky girl!

When you wrote you ate lots of gelato, it reminded me of the movie, Under the Tuscan Sun” and her first encounter with the older blonde woman in Cortona. The woman told her, ” Eat gelato. Lots and lots of gelato!”

25 Design Mom April 10, 2012 at 9:44 pm

Sounds like my kind of advice. : )

26 Nina April 10, 2012 at 8:14 pm

This photo is perfection. Truly, it’s a beautiful, timeless image.

27 Anneliese April 10, 2012 at 9:35 pm

I thought Rome had the best gelato (though it seems many favor Florence)! Yum!

28 Design Mom April 10, 2012 at 9:45 pm

I think we’ve found more flavor options than we saw in Florence. Yesterday, I tried a black cherry gelato that reminded me of my father. Made me happy.

29 Rosa @ FlutterFlutter April 11, 2012 at 1:23 am

This picture is fabulous. FABULOUS. Have fun!! :)
