Design Mom readers find the coolest stuff! Jo from Denver just sent me a note about Color Forecast, a site that shows in real time what colors people are wearing in the fashion capitals of Paris, Milan, and Antwerp. It’s published by Pimkie, an affordable and super trendy European apparel chain.
The technology behind Color Forecast is very “How did they think of that?” Installed cameras in each city collect moving pixels and distributes them into color groups. What are the majority of the people passing by in Paris wearing? Blue? Pale yellow? Basic black? Whatever the current results, Pimkie then suggests a color-coordinated outfit and accessories. Every ten minutes!
It’s pretty brilliant, isn’t it? Even for those who want to stand out in the crowds — they’ll know what colors not to wear!

That is crazy and very interesting!
This is so cool! I love technology! :)
I think it would be fun to hack this! Dress up some friends in neon and keep walking back and forth in front of the camera. Oh wait! I think that neon is back! Maybe that is how it happened!!!
