I want a closer look at these spectacles, don’t you? They’re woven!
Conceptualized by Chloë McCormick and Nicholas O’Donnell-Hoare, the glasses are designed with holes through which a mini tapestry may be woven.
This project by Josh Silver was their inspiration. Low-cost self-adjustable glasses, made possible with liquid prescription lenses. As Mr. Silver explains, “over one billion people would see their lives change if they had glasses.” Such a thoughtful invention! Every day, it seems like someone is coming up with brilliant yet totally accessible ideas that change the way we view the world. I love it.

Those glasses are incredible!
Beautiful! And I’ve heard of the liquid lens glasses before but I wasn’t sure if they were being implemented… maybe I heard about it before it was going. Glad to see that it’s still around!
how and where do we purchase these for a child?
What a fantastic idea to make sight affordable for all! I”ll have to look to see if there’s a way to donate towards this. I work with a federally funded pre-school program and I can’t tell you how much hearing and vision issues contribute to something as simple as learning to sit still.
