I Like You

February 13, 2012

Every February I make sure to mention this sweet little book called I Like You. It’s such a perfect Valentine’s gift! Good for your sweetheart, but it’s not strictly romantic, so it’s also a lovely gift for your sister or for any dear friend.

I was introduced to the book by my roommate Renae, during my freshman year of college. It’s seriously so charming — I bet I’ve given away 30 copies since then. Hah!

P.S. — If you don’t have time to order it online, try your local Anthroloplogie, they often keep it stocked.

Aw, this brought me back….my best friend in college bought it for me. We’ve fallen out of touch, but this inspires me to give her a call tomorrow!

This is a special book for us! When we married, we had only one person who spoke (besides the officiant)…my beloved niece who was 13 at the time. She read a section of this book and it was just so perfect and sweet. I still really like my husband :)

Thank you for reminding me of this lovely book!

I bought this book for my husband’s birthday–we had only been dating for two weeks, so it seemed like a romantic and sweet gift without being too much. While we were dating we’d sometimes go to the library and read children’s books (because I love them). He proposed by writing and illustrating a book modeled after this one, called ‘I Love You,” hiding it in the library, and reading it to me on one of those dates. Now we read it to our kids!

I bought this at the BYU bookstore my Freshman year and sent it to my boyfriend, thinking I was so original. Turns out everybody else did the exact same thing! Embarrassing.

I love this book too. I ordered five of them online to give away as gifts to special people in my life. I probably need to order some more. I am glad to see you share this online so others can learn about this great book.

Oh, how I adore this book! My now-husband gave me a copy on my 23rd birthday. We had just started dating. He had fond memories of his amazing grandmother reading this book to him when he was little. What a treasure. I keep my copy in my china cabinet with all of my favorite save-forever things.

OMG, I have this book from my husband’s childhood collection! It’s a favorite of ours, especially seeing that it has a special little note from Ben’s grandmother to him when he was a young child.

Thanks for the smile. :)
