A Few Things

November 25, 2011

Hello, Friends! Did you have pie for breakfast? Me too! I love the day after Thanksgiving.

I snapped the shot above, yesterday, right after we finished cooking. We used every single pot and pan in the house. Hah! I still need to finish up a bit more scrubbing, but before I do, I wanted to share a few things I thought you might like:

- Have you ever bought a live, potted Christmas tree?
- Cute gift for a big brother or sister to make for a toddler.
- The coolest ice cubes ever.
- I know Halloween is long over, but did you see this?
- What a spectacular proposal!
- I want a stamp like this.

I also write for Babble. Here are this week’s posts:
- Here’s a really cute stocking stuffer.
- A deal on letterpress Christmas Cards!
- Wouldn’t it be fun to collect advent calendars?
- Genius. Turn any bag into a camera bag.

I hope you’re having a wonderful, laidback weekend full of steamy bowls of turkey noodle soup. I’ll meet you back here on Monday. I miss you already.

kisses,
Gabrielle

Apple cranberry pie for breakfast! That’s considered fruit, right?

Totally! Fruit pie for breakfast is totally legitimate. It’s like toast and jam. : )

Hilarious, I skipped breakfast altogether so I would be extra super starving for lunch leftovers. Woohoo! Bring em on….

We used to have a live tree every year with real candles! And then it would be planted outdoors, so that my grandparents had this odd row of pine trees on their property. I miss the yearly live tree, but the one year we tried it, the thing died!

I love the idea of an odd row of pine trees as a record of past Christmases. Neat!

Wow. If I could pick any way to be proposed to, my own private exhibit at the Met would be it. No question.

Gabby, thanks for featuring my daughter’s gumball machine costume via Inchmark! I nearly had a heart attack when I clicked on your link :) Not sure if you recall, but we met after the BonCom conference in NYC (sat across the table at Whole Foods, next to Brooke). I have always enjoyed your blog so much. Hope all is well.

Hahaha – the best part of my birthday as a kid was mom would make me scrambled eggs to go with a piece of birthday cake the morning after. I carry on that tradition to this day. Hadn’t thought about pie for breakfast, but it makes perfect sense!

PS. Halloween should never be over with costumes that cute!

We bought a small live Christmas tree last year from Pike Place Market and have enjoyed watching it continue to grow outside throughout this past year.

Loved the photo of Lauren Bush and David Lauren. I did kind of want to shoot them with paint balls from sheer covetous perversity, but couldn’t get to them through the internet. Whew.
