Handmade Charlotte for Anthroplogie

October 26, 2011

I’m so excited! One of my favorite blogging friends, Rachel of Handmade Charlotte, created four heirloom pieces for Anthropologie. A gorgeous tweedy peacock coat. A sweet hand embroidered(!) dress and bloomers. And my favorite: this cozy boatneck frock. Aren’t the details fantastic?

Of course you are friends….I believe I read from your whole family and friends, hahaha! Talented people! I saw this pieces and a coat, sigh! Was meaning to congratulate her.

I was just looking at those this morning!

And this is the third time I have seen ‘paper lines’ today – once on a shirt, once on a pillow, and now on a dress. Trend?

I’d say definitely a trend! (And a cute one too.)

oh mylanta this is so sweet my teeth hurt. I don’t even have a boyfriend but I’m tempted to rent a little girl so she can twirl around in this dress!!!!!!!! (inside twirling only because it just snowed 10 inches in Denver haha)

Very cute, but for about $20 I could make it myself in about a day since the style is so simple. If only I had known my handmade clothes for my baby were worth $208 (dress) and $48 (bloomers)! It does seem a waste to spend this much money on a child’s outfit that might get spilled on or worse! However, the design is darling and very inspiring to the seamstress in me. It’s good to see that handmade goods are being valued by chain stores–way to go Handmade Charlotte!

So glad it inspires the seamstress in you, J! Anthropologie prices surprise me sometimes too, but I’m so happy to see them feature one of my friend’s collections, that this time, I didn’t even notice the prices. : )

I love how she included the middle dotted line — just like the paper my kids learned their letters with.
