My fiance and I used his power drill to poke polka dots in our pumpkins this year (for our wedding!).

It always looks fantastic!

As Emily said above, I’ve also used a drill to drill simple holes all over the pumpkins and they look fabulous too. And SO easy.

But I’m so bummed that because of the George W time change, it’s still too light out during most of trick-or-treating for anyone to enjoy the pumpkins. Boo hiss!

I started using a mini power drill a few years ago and never looked back! You can carve wonderful designs or tons of various sized dots which looks great. It’s easy and really viscerally satisfying. I had a baby 10 weeks ago, so Im not sure I’ll have hands free for long enough to carve this year and I am already eyeing that drill longingly…

But I’m looking for design inspiration now! I have no idea what to carve.

Another simple way to carve is with a drill, my friend made a patterned of vertical lines of dots and with a flickering candle inside it looked like the light was falling down, so pretty.
