My dear friend in Colorado is having a baby this month. Oh how I wish I was there to throw her a baby shower! But you can bet that hasn’t stopped me from imagining what sort of party I’d throw. : ) I think this classic school theme is perfect for a September Baby Shower, don’t you? The vintage flashcards are brilliant and I love pink carnations for baby girls.
When’s the last time you threw a party for a friend? Was there a theme?

j’adore those vintage flash cards…reminds me of the vintage memory game we got..the new ones in disney and sponge bob characters just aren’t the same. :)
How fun to find a vintage memory game. Lucky duck!
My grandfather turned 88 a couple weeks back and this is what we did:

He loves his golf game ;) and I love to plan celebrations.
I threw a National Park Baby Shower for my sister-in-law and brother, since we enjoy traveling and adventures together. Some of the highlights: a passport invitation, marshmallow on sticks centerpiece, an inflatable moose head, camping cake, survival game and food chain themed menu. A wild time was had by all and what better way to celebrate the journey into new territory: parenting!
What an adorable shower idea. I’ve never thrown a party for a friend!
I hosted a pinwheel baby shower a few months ago:

Yay for pinwheels! What a fun theme for a party.
Those flashcards – I want them! Such a pretty shower. I love every swatch of fabric on the banner. Adorable.
I just attended my own friend’s shower over the weekend. ‘Tis the season for babies!!

post script: don’t forget, pink looks good on everyone.
What a perfect shower theme, especially for September. I was just doing flash cards with my daughter last night. I love these vintage ones.
The last party I planned was my 8 year old’s Diva Party. It was so much fun! http://www.festivepartyideas.com/diva-party-ideas.html
I’m currently helping with my grandma’s 90th birthday party. This one has been a bit challenging for me to come up with some unique ideas.
90th birthday? How exciting!
I love all things vintage these days! Now I looking for who I can throw a party for…
Thanks for sharing!
My best friend lives in Pennsylvania and when I had my last baby I lived in Utah. She threw me a shower–from PA! She made all the decorations/favors/gift bags and had them shipped, then enlisted the help of a mutual friend to set up and host. It was incredible. I felt so loved. Here’s the list of everything she did for me: http://emilyssomething.blogspot.com/2010/01/celebrate-good-times.html
I have good friends!
Such a sweet friend!
So adorable! I recently threw my first baby shower for a friend! It had a vintage/girly flair: http://honeysuckleblog.blogspot.com/2011/08/hosting-baby-shower.html
I did a “garden” shower for a friend last year. We had a pretty display with stacked gardening books and flowery children’s books. We set up our cupcakes to look like a little caterpillar weaving in and out of small potted plants. Everybody went home with a tiny plant. It was fun!
Sounds absolutely charming, Andrea!
I LOVE the table in the picture — the white one that has all the desserts on it. Did the pic come from a specific magazine? I’d love to be able to track it down.
I threw a breakfast in the dark birthday party for my husband. We ate our favorite breakfast foods. It added an interesting twist to the event.
What lovely photos…and such good ideas for a shower.
