Inadvertant Haiku

September 13, 2011

“Fake or smuggled goods
More copyright infringement
China goes Fapple.”

— From August 30th

——-

I love that someone thought of this. Koseli Cummings captures the latest headlines in haiku — and has them illustrated by top artists (the screen print above is by Will Ecke). Does the news go down a bit easier if it’s brief and presented as art? What say you?

P.S. — I’m thinking haikus are the original tweets. : )

Awesome! Though as someone who currently lives in China, copyright infringement is only one part of the ugly side of Chinese culture.

I love everything about this…the graphic quality of the illustration from the colors chosen to the way the artist perfectly captures the meaning of the haiku. I went on the site and fell in love with each of the illustrations. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for sharing Inadvertent Haiku, Gabrielle! And thank you for the complimentary comments and positive feedback everyone. So much credit goes to the incredible illustrators that contribute to the blog. They are so generous with their talents.

I think headlines news does go down a bit easier if it’s presented in short tidbits—haiku—and is presented in an aesthetically pleasing way. Haiku totally IS the original tweet. Love that insight.

Thank you again.
