Dibble Dibble Dee

September 14, 2011

My sister-in-law, Erin, is a mother of five and music-with-kids expert. Happily, she shares her expertise on her fantastic website Dibble Dibble Dee. I use the site to find fun ideas and activities for me and Baby June. June LOVES any sort of singing time! Plus, with all the brothers and sisters at school, we need ideas to keep the boredom at bay.

If I had lots of close-by neighbors, I would be tempted to organize one of Erin’s Music With Friends classes. She generously shares all the info and lesson plans for free! You should totally start one.

Have you ever taken part in a class like this? Where parents take turns hosting and teaching? In New York, sometimes I would join groups like this for preschool — such a great way to make friends, and save some money too!

This is so great! I lead a Music Makers class in my area and my preschooler loves it. Like you said, it’s a great way to meet people (for me and my son too). I’m not musically inclined so it’s great to have another resource. Thank you!

We belong to a preschool co-op where we take turns teaching. Adding in more music would be so much fun. Thank you for the great new resource!

I participated in a year long parent led Hebrew play group. Every week one of us would have a different topic to engage kids age 0 – 3 in songs, stories, simple art projects and dancing. Both my son and I loved it, it was fabulous (and free!)

That is an unusual name! In New York we new a couple with the last name Dibble. Ralph took art lessons from the husband.

Oh, thanks for linking to such a great site! DD and I are taking a Music Together class this week, but I would love to organize our own thing with a few friends. Very cool.

What a great website! My youngest, Malcolm is 18 months old, seems to be so musical. He loves to dance, sing, and create noises. He enjoys music of all kinds. As a visual artist, I’ve been unsure how to cultivate his enjoyment of music. But this website seems like a great place to start. We’ve never done any kind of music classes for either of our boys. Thank you.

I did preschool co-ops with both of my daughters and loved the intimacy and creativity of the other moms. I miss getting to spend so much time with those fantastic 3 and 4 year olds, too. I have a two year old coming up on that time, and hope I can corral supporters!
