Giant Washi Tape

July 19, 2011

Look what I just saw on Poppytalk. Giant Washi Tape! It’s just like regular Japanese masking tape, but made for use on walls — so you can fill a room with a plaid or stripe that’s all your own creation.

I’m so excited to see how people use this beyond faux wallpaper. Party decor. Lining drawers. Decorating lockers. Can’t you just feel the DIYs multiplying in your brain!? : )

Would love to use this on my apartment walls – any idea how difficult it is to remove or if it takes off paint?

Washi tape usually comes right off, so I’m hoping this is the same.

Definitely going to experiment with this! I would like to add this to my showoff site if anyone has success. It’s made for use on walls, so I’m assuming it won’t be a problem removing it.

Love this! My daughter has been begging for some color in her room, but in our log home, that didn’t seem possible. Now the ideas are bursting our of my brain!

I’m like other people here; I wanna know where Americans can buy this so I can bookmark it for my next living space. Hopefully, it’s a house that I can stick washi tape on and not worry about trying to peel it off.

I came from Japan, but never thought Washi can be so stylish. I can see young talented designers in Japan are moving forward with traditional materials. Thanks for the post!
