Poetry Bombing

Agustina Woodgate secretly sews poems into clothing at thrift stores. Would you dare? Would you be happy if you found one of the poems?

Spotted on seesaw.

And yes, I would be SO pleasantly surprised if I found one of these in a garment I bought – so sweet and unexpected.

I’m wondering if you, Gabrielle, would dare :)
Also I’m wondering why she has to sew, instead of just slip them in the pockets… (I probably wouldn’t be happy if it was in my shop)

I don’t know if I would dare! I think she’s brave.

Also. I love the pockets idea. I might be brave enough for that. : )

I think that is a GREAT idea! It seems that the only reason she would be doing that is to add a little beauty, encouragement, and happy into someone’s life for that small amount of time! Love it!

Sweet! I love how happy it makes her, and I love that it is spreading a little kindness—I’d love to find one of her poems sewn into my clothes.

I think it’s sweet. The way she does it, she’s not ruining the clothing. I’ve seen similar things where people do stuff on hotel linens but the way they do it, to remove it the linens would be ruined. This is easy to remove of somebody doesn’t want them, without wrecking the garments. :)

I think it’s awesome and I would love to find that in something I bought! As to why she sews it, I love her explanation that it puts people in contact with it. And the way she does it (or from how it appears in the video), it could definitely be removed if someone doesn’t want it.

LOVE this idea, we need more poetry in our lives, seems like it is a lost art for some but I will be doing lots and encouraging my students to learn and appreciate poems in the fall!
