Oh. My kids would love these surprise message eggs! They don’t look like too much trouble, so I’m adding this idea to my “try this” list for Easter. Find the full photo tutorial here. Will you be decorating eggs this year?
P.S. — Martha Stewart has a whole app all about egg dying. Fabulous!

I saw this on Pinterest last week and am totally going to try it! The message on the inside is going to ask Chris’ cousin, Will, if he’d like to be the godfather to our new baby on the way! Hopefully I can make it happen! =)
I would not try to mail those, especially to another country. When I was in Prague a few years back I bought a bunch of their beautiful traditional eggs and shipped them home. Some were to me, some were sent to family as gifts. Most didn’t make it. The sad part is I’m pretty sure the postal inspectors broke them to see if anything was in them. They had holes that looked like someone poked their finger through the shell but were otherwise OK. I think almost all my packages to home got opened and ransacked.
What a lovely Easter-y idea. I’ll give it a go!
Those are so fun looking, but I’m always so intimidated by emptying out a egg shell. Seems so tricky. Is it really as easy as it looks??
These are genius – I’m all excited to make them for my nieces.
How fun! This would be a perfect craft to go along with the quiche I’m planning to make this week. : )
This is a neat craft idea, but I’m not too fond of the idea of someone destroying my work of art! I’m sure my kids would have no problem with that, though. :)
Love, love, LOVE all the easter loveliness starting to happen. Just wanted to share my hand painted eggs with you!
