Because the garden here is so beautiful, pretty much the only thing I added for party decorations was ribbon. Lots of it! I bought seven rolls of inexpensive double-sided satin ribbon and hung it everywhere. In doorways and arches. On garden structures and the welcome bike. On easter baskets and in hair.
Here are some of my favorite ribbon-y images from the party (and from the party prep). They look like Spring!
On the day of the party, I was at the store with my sister picking up paper goods and Jordan spotted bamboo butterfly nets for 1 euro each. So we bought a few for the kids to use while they chased around the garden — and added ribbon to the handles, of course. There weren’t many butterflies, but they sure looked cute. : )

The house and grounds look so magical and fairytale-esque. So beautiful! You are truely blessed to have this opportunity. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to your posts about the house and your adventures.
Goooorgeous! Love it all, so dreamy!
Beautiful! What a simple yet elegant party decoration. I love the light shining through and that iron gazebo is perfect! Can you imagine getting married in there!? I can ; )
So pretty! The ribbon is perfect. And so simple to set up.
Love the final solution. The gazebo/trellis had to be so much fun to stand in after the ribbons were up. Do you get the ribbon online or did you get it there? I would love a great resource for cheap wide ribbon. Thanks!
oops! I just noticed the ribbon link. Thanks!
Absolutely beautiful, would have loved to join the party as well!
Agree with Abigail — lovely for an egg hunt, perfect for a wedding. One of the Blair children will have to return one day to La Cressonniere to get married.
The photo with the sunlight through the ribbons is absolutely beautiful.
So perfect!! Cannot wait to see pics from the ACTUAL party. All this lead up is killin’ me
The ribbon is so very Easter and Spring! Love it and you and how you are able to make everything so beautiful! Gramps and I decided we need to have an Easter egg hunt for our grandchildren and friends next year!! ;D
Everything turned out so pretty. I’m so happy the ribbons got to you and it went smoothly. I love the look of them lined up on the lawn.
You’ve just inspired a great party idea for my daughter this summer! The ribbons are beautiful, thank you for sharing your lovely pictures!

This party makes me sad…that I wasn’t there. Truly magical. I love this idea and the surroundings. How perfect.
Soooo…I am guessing the owners of the house aren’t going to have a difficult time renting this house out in the future!! (of course if that is their intention) (;
Picture perfect! Love the ribbons and I want that garden arbor! Thanks for sharing!
What an excellent excellent idea! Love how it looked. You have such a fine taste. The sun through the ribbons, the best!
Absolutely magical.
The ribbons are lovely, but the photography is beautiful!
Beautiful. I love the simplicity of colorful spring ribbons everywhere. The grounds are gorgeous, so the ribbons were the perfect touch to make it feel like an Easter celebration. So fun!!
