Easy Make Your Own Bookshelf

Did you know Ikea has a blog called Life at Home? It’s new-to-me and it’s in Swedish (which I don’t read or speak), but chrome does a good job of translating. It features some fun ideas. I like this plate wall. And I adore the shelving they built with binder clips.

Wouldn’t those shelves be fun in a playspace or home office? They remind me of the crate shelving featured in the fleeting Blueprint magazine.

SO simple yet chic….I seriously love me some IKEA :)

I totally miss Blueprint…that & Domino are my most-missed magazines!

I don’t know if you already looked at lonnymag, but its a great new magazine that is free online. It doesn’t replace the beautiful domino, but it help fill in the emptiness!

I love those shelves! I did not know that Ikea had a blog. I tried to find the English version but no such luck. I used the translate tool too. Thanks for the link!

Ugh! I’m sorry it’s not translating for you, Shelley. At least there are pretty pictures to look at. : )

I used to love Ikea, but found their quality got worse. A friend recently shared this disturbing article with me:

There’s a great English-language blog called Ikea Hackers. (http://www.ikeahackers.net/)

I understand the “officey” look of the binder clips, but you can also remove the little silver “arms” by squeezing the sides together, leaving just the black part of the binder clip for a more simple look. And, binder clips come in a variety of colors, so you could mix that up as well.
