This must be a trend I’m reacting to without noticing it as such before now. My father-in-law just brought a beautiful “lighted” retro globe out of the attic. Every time we visit, I daydream about finding one exactly like it for our apartment.
Love the light fixture!

Gasp! I just might have to make something like that with the once sort-of valuable globe collection that are now dented from a toddler’s curiosity….

love it!

I saw this over on Black Eiffel . . . I love globes and maps anyway, but this is really appealing to me.

Happy Thanksgiving to you! I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Ooo! Our Boy is hoping Santa brings a globe (um, excuse me “Earth ball” as he calls it) for Christmas. Wouldn’t he be flabbergasted with this! Love it.

Oh, my gosh. My 5-year-old is obsessed with Geography and globes. He would love this. If we had a foyer with a high ceiling I might be tempted to make one.

I love this. Alas, in our 1950′s ranch we have relatively low ceilings but this just calls out to the Social Studies part of me :). What a great idea for a kids room or a family room/great room. For now, it goes in my inspiration file. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
