This week I’m featuring The Robot Book by Heather Brown. I think of it as a really good-looking version of a book-with-moving-parts. We just got this and I’ve decided to save it for a Christmas gift for Oscar. I think he’ll love it! There are lots of 3-D pieces to rotate, push and pull. Windows to look through and flaps to lift.
Such a neat (and sturdy) book to hold in your hands. I’m afraid my photos don’t do it justice.

ok, so I’ve been slightly obsessed with robots. I have a pinboard all about it here:

and this little obsession means that my high school art students will be drawing and making robots very soon. :)

My 2 year old will love it! Thanks for sharing!
What a cute book! My Dad designs robots, so my kids love anything that has to do with robots.
I have two sons and four nephews to buy Christmas gifts for this year. This book is on my list!
I feel like I need to bookmark your children’s books posts so that I have tried-and-true recommendations for when my babe is older. I would’ve loved this book as a kid–yep, the moving parts enchant.
oh that looks like a fun book ! I should bookmark it for later, when my son starts getting obssessed with robots .
Thank you !
honest to betsy i was just goibg to the bookstore today to look at robot books! youre my fairy design mother! its gorgeous. thanks for sharing!
Love the illustration! It looks like the whole book (including moving parts) is a board book. Is this the case? i.e. are the moving parts really sturdy? My 2.5 yo loves books and loves books with things that move, but he tends to pull to hard on pop-up books made of regular cardboard (and so they rip, naturally). Just wondering if this is a gift for this Xmas, or perhaps something for later.
Looks like a fun book to add to Santa’s list.
Thank you for sharing!
