Underwater Photography

The Underwater Fairytale series by Elena Kalis is wonderful!

Have you ever shot photos underwater? We bought a waterproof disposable camera on our trip to Mexico last year — we used it to take photos when we snorkled in the cenotes (underwater caves) — but I still haven’t had the film developed. Yikes!

Breathtaking! The Wonder Woman shot makes me especially happy. Reminds me of carefree summer days, running around in my Wonder Woman Underroos.

So WONDER-filled. How fun would it be to be the “actress” for these fairy tales? I imagine it must have been cool to go underwater fully dressed (and w/ props)!

Check out the underwater photography done by Mark Lee in Hawaii. Especially the maternity shoots. Amazing! http://holladayweddings.com/blog/category/hawaii-underwater-photogarphy-photographer/

These are so fanciful. So much wonder and possibility in each shot.

I echo the comment about the very cooperative model.
I bought an Olympus camera a couple years back that was good for use underwater to about 10 feet… the trouble was it struggled to focus on anything, and keeping it still while treading water was nearly impossible. As a result I have a lot of greenish blurry pics for my trouble.

WOW, I love these. Usually underwater photographs have an eery feeling to them, but the way these are taken makes them feel fun and wonderful.
