Haircut

September 16, 2010

Friends. I chopped off my hair and I’m loving it!

This is the shortest my hair has been for 5 or 6 years. It feels great and I’m hoping it will be easy to maintain while my hair recovers from my pregnancy (the shedding is ridiculous!). I used this as the inspiration photo.

What do you think? Are you a long, medium or short hair fan?

I love it! Your curls are gorgeous! I am a medium-length girl. I think everybody tends to find what works for them. Some people are lucky enough to have multiple styles and lengths that work. I go with “as short as possible while still being long enough to pull up when desired”.

It looks great! It really flatters your features and brings out your eyes. I’d never noticed they were blue before! Sorry if that sounded like I’m hitting on you – I promise I’m not. :) haha. It really is nice, though. And will be a lot easier to look “done”.

Looks great! I also loved it long and wished my hair had similar curls instead of the frizzies. Amazing as usual!

It looks really cute! I have curly hair too, and up until Tuesday it hung about four inches past my shoulders. I used a picture of you (from one of your posts of pregnant pictures) for inspiration when I got my hair cut :-)

Looks very cute and easy to deal with, my hair is the complete opposite of yours and stick straight, shoulder length blond and today I am going to get a new do…not sure what I am doing yet, but I am sure it will be fun, too.

It’s so cute. Love your curls. You pull this cut off so well. My hair is stick straight, but thick, so that’s good. I’ve had short hair since I turned 43. You know, the short hair everyone has who lives in Utah, but I think it suits me.

Totally darling. I love hair at all lengths. I’m enjoying a short, a-line bob at this point but I also look forward to growing it out again to at least a medium length at some point. Post-pregnancy haircuts are the best though. They make you feel all fresh and new after months of feeling like the same old. Enjoy, you look fabulous!

I love it! You have such pretty hair! I love ALL hairstyles and love change! Mine is just below my shoulders. I cut 14 inches off of mine over two years ago and I am trying so hard to get it back, but it just won’t grow!

oh good – you got pictures. It’s adorable! Isn’t it liberating? I had my hair cut back in August, I think they took off six inches and it feels great!

I wish I could go short but it just doesn’t suit me. But you? It looks fabulous on you!!!

Reply

12 Chelsea September 16, 2010 at 8:28 am

For my curls, I can ONLY do short. My hair has changed with pregnancies so I have to keep it short.

Reply

13 Ms. Amy September 16, 2010 at 8:33 am

Really cute! I love how you pinned back the front a bit. Overall, it looks long enough to still pull out of your face, but short enough to wear down without being bothersome. I would say that it’s the perfect length.

Reply

14 Kristen E September 16, 2010 at 8:42 am

So cute! I have straight hair that’s fairly fine, and I love having it short. I’ve had it everywhere from totally buzzed off to waist-length and I definitely prefer short. I can change the style as often as I want, it doesn’t get in my way, and it usually manages to look funky and modern with little effort. :)

Looks very nice! When I first met you years and years ago in Jackson Hole you had super short hair and it was lovely. I’m a huge fan of very short hair…. been wearing mine various short short ways for the past 4 years. Just now thinking of growing it out to my shoulders? I love hair change, looks good and fresh.

Love it! So flattering. I am a what ever that day feels like length person. I will decide on a hair cut and then get to the beauty shop and totally change my mind depending on whether my hair is driving me nuts at the moment or not. When I was younger I would cry and cry when I chopped my hair short, but now I just live with however it is and know that if I don’t love it there are hats and pony tail holders until it grows out :)

Wow, it looks so good! I have very long, curly, Mediterranean hair and I have been wanting to chop it off for so long. In fact I made an appointment last week for next week and I am wondering if you could tell me what you told your hair dresser when you described your haircut. You look fabulous!

I think it looks so cute. Changing hair is always fun, and when you get your hair cut, it is like a mini brand new start:) I am growing mine out, and it is taking forever this time around. I am still shedding my hair after I had my daughter 18 months ago! I became severly anemic from blood loss, and hair shedding is a side effect. Hopefully both of ours will end soon:)

Reply

32 DeeAnna September 16, 2010 at 9:33 am

Gabrielle, It looks sooo cute! I like all lengths and as soon as I cut my hair I start growing it into something else…over and over and over!

Reply

33 Happenstance September 16, 2010 at 9:49 am

Oh I think it looks great! Your hair color makes your eyes pop too–very pretty. I’m at SUCH a crossroads with my hair right now. I JUST stopped shedding crazy amounts of hair and my son is almost 20 months now. I can’t decide if I should do bangs or not. My hair is to the middle of my back, all one length right now which = b-o-r-i-n-g, which = easy to manage on a whim.

i have all this really short hair growing in now (10m after baby) can’t tell if it’s because i’ve broken so many hairs since i’m growing it out (for locks o’ love) or the fact that the shed starting at 4m after baby is finally, for real, over! :)

I love it! I recently cut all of my hair off after slowly growing it out over the last couple years. I hadn’t had it past my shoulders since high school and I was determined to get it there. I grew it out for my wedding and was loving the length, but then when my husband and I got pregnant – I had a serious urge to just chop it all off and start over! So that’s what I did! I love the ease of it, I don’t have to use any machinery when getting ready in the morning, and I cut off all the damage from coloring it over the years, so my hair is happy again! And my grey is coming in, yikes! Now if I could just try out having curly hair (without the damage of a perm), that would be super awesome! xoxo

Your hair is quite lovely. I’m usually a hair filanderer. I can never decide what I like the best. But yesterday I decided that it didn’t matter, and shaved it all off to help support my sister in her battle against cancer. It’s pretty nice an low maintenance, and whether it suits my face or not… I’ll be donning a short hairdo for awhile. I hope you like yours :)
