Mila’s Daydreams

July 26, 2010

This made me smile. During naptime, Mila’s mom sets up a photo shoot around her. She guesses what Mila is dreaming about. Go see.

Thanks for the link, Steph. Also. These remind me of the work of Jan Von Holleben.

Posting this to my friend’s store Facebook Page. It’s precious. I’d never ever be so brave as to do this.

Brave is right. This is an idea for deep sleeping babies only. : )

This is soooo sweet!! Can it be pulled off with 11 year olds?

Just kidding.

The second to last photo you posted is my very fave!! So precious. And also thanks to @sarahviola for sending the link to me!

My friend Jenny just had her first baby and she’s baffled that the Mom isn’t napping instead of taking photos. But I think if I had the same idea, I’d be addicted! Who needs sleep, right? :)

I think that almost brings a tear to my eye! Looking from the computer screen back to my 15 month old monkey cruising around, back to this precious sleeping, dreaming child. Time flies by! What a cool way to capture those first few weeks…naps like that don’t last very long:)

This totally made me giggle with joy! Now that my baby is 7 I don’t think I could get away with it. Maybe something to get creative with when dad is sleeping on the couch????

What a fun idea! Its a bit like a junior version of the Christmas card you guys made.
I may have to start interpreting Jane’s dreams…

Best thing I’ve encountered today, Gabby. I only wish I’d thought of it! (Well, and that I also had a baby who was such a deep sleeper to let me pull it off.)

Love it! If only my newborn (and his brother before him) would sleep unswaddled and without being held – ha!

Reply

21 Brittany July 26, 2010 at 3:02 pm

Love it…will try it with my babe upon arrival…albeit I have much less confidence in my photo-setup abilities, especially while trying to keep baby asleep. The Thai/Indian inspired one is my fav.

And totally not creepy–Angela and the veggie tray in the Office–creepy, newborn dreams, not so much.

oh. no. That is toooooo cute. My daughter was a super heavy sleeper for the first few weeks, anyway–we definitely could’ve pulled some of that off. These are well done and just totally awesome. If our little guy on the way turns out to be another heavy sleeper, I see some great potential for a creative birth announcement here.

I love it! Seeing a newborn’s sleeping face and cute little positions (hands over head) produces such an immediate wave of nostalia. This reminded me immediately of Jan von Holleben’s work that you posted about a long time ago. We set up some of our own trick photog with the four oldest kids once, but didn’t even bother trying with the baby!
