Book of the Week: Alternative ABCs

July 13, 2010

The perfect baby gift for your rocker friend who wasn’t quite ready to become a parent. Alternative ABCs. G is for Graffiti. F is for Flames. Can you think of the exact right person to give this too?

I like it!

Funny that I can like this book and a Charley Harper abc book equally.

I feel the same way, Wendy.

Hilarious! I love it!

True! Hilarious and somehow cool at the same time.

LOVE this! And I know just who to give it to. :)

7 Design Mom July 13, 2010 at 1:02 pm

Me too, Suzanne. Three specific friends came to mind as soon as I saw this.

So on Twitter when you said it was a book for a rocker, I was wondering why a rocking chair would need a book.

9 Design Mom July 13, 2010 at 1:03 pm

Zina, that’s hilarious!

Are you kidding me, I want this! But your link isn’t working for me. :( Where did you find it?

11 Design Mom July 13, 2010 at 2:30 pm

So glad you told me, Kate! I didn’t realize the link was broken. Should be all fixed now.

Oh MY Goodness! I NEEEED that for my boys!

13 Design Mom July 13, 2010 at 3:50 pm

I think it’s a great boy book as well. I gave a copy to my friend Rebecca — mother of 6(!) boys.

I absolutely have a friend in mind for this one. Such a good find!

Love it! Next I want an urban version of a See and Say. Instead of “Cow says Moooo”, I want “Taxi cab says, Hoonnnk”

Me! ( I like to think I am a rocker)

This is awesome — would make a great gifts for some friends.

This looks like such a fun book! I posted about it a while back, but I hadn’t seen those illustrations up close. Now I think I would love it even more! This may sound crazy, but I even tiny babies might dig those vivid colors. (Plus they are too young to ask about graffiti, which is a plus!)
Here’s my post:

Fun! I can think of a few households that need this. Including mine! My 3 year old is convinced he’s a rockstar.

I absolutely CAN. Your timing in posting this is unbelievable.
