This has been a fun week. Ralph is attending a Film Camp and yesterday, my older girls were able to attend a day of shooting as extras. The film is a western, so they were dressed in any cowboy duds they could find around the house. Adorable! Also. Ben Blair and I had an impromptu date on Wednesday night. We stopped for dessert at a new restaurant in our neighborhood. They have an old school menu — I had the banana cream pie and he had cookies and milk.
While I think about that pie (and my stomach grumbles), here are a few links I’ve been wanting to share with you:
-bikes by Public
-melting
-DIY Memory Game
-5 great outdoor lighting options
-a lazy lawn
-hotel style (makes me crave a trip so bad!)
-donate your tent or tarp for Haiti
-tin foil dinners
-Did you see Double Rainbow? I think Ben Blair has watched it 30 times.
-what an appealing kitchen
-Stripey favorite Polarn O. Pyret is having a huge 50% off sale.
-the impact of light
-good looking email buttons
I write a daily post for Babble’s Family Style blog. Here are my posts from this week:
-a market bag (with a baguette compartment!)
-Rikshaw Design summer sale
-rad summer posters from Binth — plus 20% off!
-Peek Aren’t You Curious is clearing things out
-make a sippy cup out of canning jar
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I will be making photo props for the BlogHer Kirtsy Party. Woot! I’ll meet you back here on Monday. I miss you already.
kisses,
Gabrielle

I’m definitely gonna do the DIY memory game. A super unique and fun b-day present for a cousin or special friend.
Momtastic looks like it has potential.
you get me in trouble with these link posts, but I love them!
If I buy that bike, will my legs look like that? Please say yes.
That picture is a hoot!
I’m sure Lance will be wearing those bicycle shoes in next year’s Tour de France…
Cheers,
Anne
Good looking bike, but I could never ride in those shoes- I’d slip, for sure.
Yowza – that bike is so cute, I’m going to check out there shop right now! And film camp sounds like a fantastic idea. I’m off now to have a big exciting Friday night of snuggling my new baby. Hope you have a really lovely weekend!
Those bikes are gorgeous but holy moly expensive! I got a bike for my birthday which I’ve ridden tons of times (read: ONCE). It’s a Raleigh and pretty sweet. Here it is: http://www.raleighusa.com/bikes/comfort/venture/
That one time I rode it, it was nice :)
I love the floating bed at the hotel!
Ha! You just made my day with that double rainbow video. Hilarious.
Double Rainbow!! OH MY Goodness. Hilarious.
Thanks for sharing the link about Public bikes! My sister-in-law has been looking for a bike with no luck. She bought a Liberty of London cruiser (so cute!), but it was terrible. The forks arrived completely bent. Back to square one. I think she’ll really like the Public bikes. Gosh, I’d like a Public bike. ;)
Have a great weekend!
Bikes!! I crave a gorgeous retro bike so badly! Unfortunately, my location right now isn’t very bike friendly :(
I want that bike!
Have you heard about Denver’s cool public bike borrowing program? It’s the first in the country and it’s a great successl (I was reminded by your picture.) Also, wondered if you had any ideas for a cool source for cloth napkins and placemats. I’m in the market. Thanks Gabrielle!
Does someone actually cook in that kitchen?
Some great tips thanks for sharing! My three year old loves the double rainbow song and has been singing it all week. I think it is so annoying, but from the mouth of a 3 year old it is pretty funny!
Film camp- wow! Who is the camp through? I would love that for my 12 year old daughter. She LOVES, LOVES anything film.
Thank you for the link to Just Something I Made. I took some of her offered buttons – she is a godsend to the graphically challenged (me!).
Um, shoe information please? please? please? I may need to see them again in my lifetime!
that melting post was fun. I can see framing those and hanging them in order for summer decorating.
Love those bikes. I have a Trek which I love, but these Public ones are winning me over! And that market bag is perfect, love it.
it’s so fun to picture you out and about in my old neighborhood…haven’t heard “Southglenn” in a Looooooooooooooooooooooong time! When I lived there (back in the 80s) my family was in Southglenn 1st ward and we met in the Easter Building right across from Southglenn Mall.
The restaurant sounds fun!
And YAY for impromptu dates!
My 17 year old loves film making too. It is so fun to see what he shoots of the family. (I just wish he didn’t always shoot when I am not wearing any makeup)
I totally LOVE the DIY memory game!! I’m so doing it! =) I love that post about the difference in natural and artificial lights. I’m definitely a natural light lover. I know the need for blinds and all but during the day those blinds are up and open! Let the light in! Hope you had a great weekend!
My husband set the Double Rainbow as his ringtone. You should see the looks he gets when we’re out and about.
Double Rainbow has had us cracking up too!
I had not yet seen the double rainbow…WOW. Thank you for sharing it.
That restaurant reminds me of my favorite Denver food, Beau-Jo’s Pizza and Blue Bonnet Mexican! Mexican food in Seattle isn’t the same!
Lisa Leonard Designs has some very unique and beautiful pieces.
