Next Clothing

June 9, 2010

Did I miss the memo about Next? Apparently, it’s a UK based shop that offers $5 flat rate shipping. That’s dollars, not euros. I’ve never heard of it before, but I think I like it. The collection of boys shoes is especially excellent.

Thanks for the tip, Bridget.

This is a very popular brand in Britain. You can buy from internet, catalog or stores. By the ways its a British store ; ). They sell baby and women clothes as well.

I am a HUGE fan of Next from when I lived in the UK in the 90′s. I went back to England for the first time last year and Next was one of the first shops I hit. Never thought about shopping with them online! THANKS!

My husband is Welsh and we’re fortunate to get to travel through London at least once a year to visit his family. We ALWAYS load up on clothes at Next – and I’ve been so happy to see that they’ve finally opened a US website – in dollars, not pounds! Yeah for Next!!!

I LOOOOOOVE that store NEXT, I discovered it when I was on a business trip in London and I did not know that we could order from the net! Thanks!

This is about the cutest outfit I’ve ever seen. Seriously, I WANT IT! No, not for my girls, although that would be adorable. No, I want it for me. Thanks for the tip!

I live in England and I buy most of my children’s clothes from Next. They wash and wear so well that my third boy is in the clothes that my first wore!

I LOVE NEXT! My husband is from Malta, and there is a NEXT store there. I always pick up a few things when we go visit his family there.

AWWWWWWESOME! It is so hard to find cute boys stuff… at reasonable prices too! How did I not know about this? And you are so right on about the boy’s shoe collection!

The clothes are good quality and they have great designs for kids.

30 Jennie June 15, 2010 at 4:15 pm

That is good to know! I grew up in the UK and so am familiar with the store, but I didn’t know I could get their clothes online – especially with such a deal on shipping. When my daughter was born, my brother brought over a coat and a couple of outfits from Next and they were adorable!

31 kelly June 16, 2010 at 1:59 pm

i too love the clothes at next. i just ordered a bunch of items for my son. yes, the $5 shipping is real, but watch out for the pricing. i did the GBP to USD conversion before placing my order and was shocked to see the price difference on my invoice. when i emailed next looking for an explanation, this is the response i received……
“As a business we negotiate the price at which we purchase our products well in advance of the time when they are offered for sale. Contracts for the manufacture of our products can be negotiated as long as 18 months before the products hit our shelves in stores and very few products are purchased in Sterling, with many being purchased either in Euros, US Dollars, or Hong Kong Dollars.

At the time the goods are then selected for distribution in each territory, a pricing model for the territory determines the margin placed on each product to cover operating costs and to give the required profit margin for the business to be viable in the country. The exchange rate at the time the product is purchased by Next may differ vastly from the exchange rate on the day it is sold in a store. We cannot reprice goods to reflect the then current conversion rate, as we cannot predict what that will be when we buy the goods from our suppliers.

Please be assured that we do continue to monitor the competitiveness of our prices and profitability.

I hope this clarifies our position and explains why we cannot simply convert into Dollars the sterling prices shown on our products on”

Actually, next is the most popular second-hand brand in Hungary, so they do wash and wear well!!
