Chic Summer Hats

June 14, 2010

On an errand this weekend, I saw these chic summer hats on display at Target. They’re designed by Eugenia Kim, a New York based milliner. I was tempted to buy one but I’m not sure I can rock a hat. What do you think? Do you wear hats? Do you like these? I think the fedoras are my favorite.

P.S. — Today’s my birthday. Should I celebrate with a pedicure or a new hat? Or both?

Happy, happy Birthday to youu!! You deserve to be pampered, so get a pedicure. Hats can be hard to pull off, but I am sure you can do it. So, I say both, too!

Happy Birthday–treat yourself to both! I learned to rock a hat this year since I lost my hair to chemo. I just picked up the stripey newsboy cap and I have gotten lots of compliments already!

Pedicure. The hats are fun, but I can’t picture your gorgeous curly hair confined beneath a fedora. So skip it & sub in a massage. You deserve some pampering!! Have a lovely birthday.

Happy Birthday! You definitely deserve both a cool hat and a pedicure. I love the Eugenia Kim hats but most of them are sold out (at least online) already. Maybe they are easier to find in-store.

Happy Birthday! It’s my husband’s birthday, too! I’d say a pedicure, but those hats are tempting – plus a good way to yield off the sun!

I love these hats, but I wouldn’t buy any of these due to the small brim size. They’re supercute, though!

I don’t think you can go wrong with a hat or a pedicure! :)

I love hats! And I believe that they are like the color yellow: everyone can wear a hat; just a matter of finding the right shape, color, etc. In the winter, I’m hardly seen outside without one (and by winter, I mean October through April). I do wish, however, that there were a way out of the infamous hat hair; I suspect that with your curls, you wouldn’t have such a problem.

Happy birthday!

Happy birthday!! My birthday is this week also and I got the mani/pedi yesterday. I couldn’t pull off those hats either but I LOVE several of them. I need to go return something at Target, I wonder if I should even bother checking them out, I hate to be disappointed…

I wear a hat multiple times a week, they’re a good choice for fashion as well as protecting your skin. They’re hard to get used to, but that’s all it is really – just getting used to seeing yourself in one.

I’ve been itching to try at hat the past couple seasons. When I saw these at Target I decided now was the time. I can be brave and give it a try when the hat is inexpensive. Not a big loss if I decide it’s just not me.

Happy Birthday!

Yes, absolutely pick up one of these hats–or more. They’re adorable and a complete steal compared to full-price Eugenia Kim.

I have two of them myself, including the fedora, and I love them so much, I was inspired to write a hat-centric blog post: http://closet-coach.com/2010/05/12/freshen-your-spring-wardrobe-with-a-hat/

You’ll get lots of wear out of them, and you’ll look great doing it.

I’ve had bangs my entire life (except for an ill-fated couple of years when I grew them out and I’ve cringed at pictures from that period ever since) so I’ve never figured out how to pull off hats. These look so cute though. I say go for it! AND, happy birthday!!

I have only ever found one hat that doesn’t give me ring around the forehead and its a giant, floppy seersucker hat from The Gap. It makes me look like a jar of jam. I love fedoras though! If you can fit your noggin in it (unlike me) then go for it! I am sure you can rock it!

Get that pedi too! Have a wonderful birthday!!

I’d go with the pedicure – I love hats on other people, but I don’t have the head or the face for them. Pretty sure that model above could wear a flamingo on her head and look good.

Well, happy birthday! I vote both, because Target hats are affordable. If you wimp out on wearing it, you can totally return it. And pedicures are wonderful and make you feel pretty, so pair it with a daring hat, and you’re good to go.

Hey Fellow Gemini — Happy Birthday! This is embarrassing but I always thought I looked bad in hats, so I avoided wearing them and thought I just wasn’t a hat type. Then my boyfriend told me how pretty I looked in a hat and how much he liked it, while smiling at me and staring intently in my eyes…melt…and now I have a whole wall of hats and wear them whenever I get the chance.

It’s amazing how quickly our perceptions can change with a little positive encouragement. I think you could easily ROCK a hat. :)
