The Stir is looking at motherhood all month long through the lens of mom photographers. They asked me to contribute. “Send photos that represent your personal motherhood story,” they said. So I sent them 4 photos to choose from (pictured here). To see which one they picked go here. To see the whole series so far, go to the Picturing Motherhood slideshow.
How would you represent your personal motherhood story?

i love the photography— very up close and intimate… just like mothering.
Love the Dandelion Bouquet!
Kelly
Aw, my boy is obsessed with dandelions as well! It’s so nice to see someone excited about their arrival in the spring. : )
dandelion bouguet is my favourite. I will miss those when my children get older. They have heralded spring for me for the past 7 years.
I thought they should have picked the “five” picture! So sweet…
I love dandelion bouquet. I love getting those from my 2 year old Asher. A month ago he came in with a daffodil and said,” I love you mommy!” and did a happy dance. Flowers from a toddler are great!
Five is such an amazing age. You get to show your whole hand, without hiding any fingers when people ask you how old you are. Ten is almost as great, but it’s also sad because it is the last year you get to count your age with your fingers. Love the photos!
You need to change the upper left on your blog to say mother of 6. The “almost” is over! Congrats on your new little one, I have 3, you are brave!
Working on the changes this weekend.
I would have picked “Picking In.” I love everything about it– the colors, the framing, the moment. It’s very nostalgic for me.
Ah so lovely
Oh the hand up…yours is to say “five”, whereas in our house it is to say “STOP! I dont like it!” We see that a lot.
And by the way, ARE YOU SLEEPING??? Good lord woman, 5 kids, one brand new alien-type thing and you are still doing all these delicious blog posts? Insanity!
Great pictures. My favorite is I Am 5. That’s a great assignment for photographers. I’m going to try to capture my story this weekend.
Gorgeous photos! I completely relate to “safe” these days.
I loved each picture! Probably I would have picked “5.” “Safe would be a close second. Actually they’re all tied for first! What pictures should a Grandma take?
Love JGB
