April 1, 2010

It’s no joke! I’ve got an amazing Giveaway from Blurb today. 10 lucky winners will each receive a $50 gift certificate to make their very own book (and with prices starting at $4.95, your gift certificate will ensure you can make something fabulous, right?). I love browsing the Blurb books to see the beautiful creations made by people all over the globe. Cookbooks, photo journals, baby books, wedding books — even novels.

If you wanted, you could also use Blurb’s handy tools to make your blog into a book. And then order a copy for your Mom. Because you know she wants one. Which reminds me: how about making a book especially for Mother’s Day?

What kind of book would you make?

Enter the giveaway by leaving a comment below. The 10 winners will be announced on Monday. Good luck! I hope you win. Note: I’ll reach out to the winners using the email address they list when they comment.

5 Tracy April 1, 2010 at 1:48 pm

I just love Blurb books! They have the best design tools and most stylish, high-quality photo books on the market. After trying (and failing) to be very disciplined about our beloved rescue dogs, my husband and I gave in and they now both sleep in our bed with us. Every morning when I wake up, my husband is still in bed asleep with both of them, and I snap a few photos of the sweet, funny, cuddly positions they’re in. It makes for fun images when there’s an errant paw sticking out from the comforter, or my husband is sharing his pillow with a pooch. I’m going to put all of the photos into a book called “Sleeping With Dogs” and surprise hubby with it for his birthday. I’d love to win this giveaway and get started on his gift book. Thanks for considering my entry, and good luck to all!

My first baby, Corgan Pierce, was born 1 week ago today. I would love to make his baby book a Blurb book! He’s quite photogenic for a newborn, if I do say so myself, and would look mighty fine in such a professional looking book.

19 Kristin April 1, 2010 at 1:52 pm

Oh goodness, this is an awesome giveaway! If I had my pick, I’d probably make a picture book for my little one (Due June 20th). I saw this DIY project somewhere out in blogland, where they created a book to teach their child words, so for mommy, there was a picture of mommy, and for dog, there was a picture of their dog… and so on. I think it would be a creative keepsake and a great learning tool! :)

20 Melissa April 1, 2010 at 1:53 pm

61 MrsBagley April 1, 2010 at 2:05 pm

Sign me up! I’ve been dragging my feet over a book for my son’s first year. Maybe this is the motivation I need to get going again!

62 Becca April 1, 2010 at 2:06 pm

I started my blog with the intention of “Blurbbing” it each year. More than three years later, it is still unpublished. This giveaway would be the kick I need to get going.

I’m also working on making a book for each of my kids with their adoption stories. I’m collecting pregnancy and hospital photos and stories from their birthmoms. I’ll include my photos from the day we met each of them and their first few days at home. I tell them their adoption stories, but I think the photos, and the additional stories from their birthmoms would make it a little more real to them at their young ages. I’ve made photo books before with other online services, but I definitely need to check out Blurb.

63 Lauren April 1, 2010 at 2:06 pm
