A Few Things & Happy Easter

April 2, 2010

Hello friends! Are you looking forward to this weekend? Hunting Easter eggs? Dinner with family? Here are a few things I’ve been meaning to share with you — before I sign off for some holiday preparations:

-A super cute sneaker available in 16 different colors. I would wear a pair of these all summer long. via Unruly Things

-I’m craving yellow.

-Did you see Samantha Robinson’s studio tour?

-Look at the charming swimsuits Caroline found.

-Have you ever worn beautiful nursing bras? Sadly, I have not. I think Cake offers the prettiest maternity/nursing lingerie I’ve come across.

-This Old Spice commercial makes me laugh so hard.

-My new favorite apartment. I love it the most of all.

-I want to go to a party where there are little stacks of pancakes with flags. Will you host one please? (And invite me?)

-Pretty paper garlands.

-Tiny boutonnières.

-Megan at NotMartha has been rocking the Easter Egg scene this week. I’m going to follow her directions/dye recipes to get more intense colors on my eggs this year.

-Speaking of eggs, we haven’t decorated ours yet. But I’m thinking it will happen today after school or maybe tomorrow. We might repeat our dyed and decoupaged version of a few years ago (pictured above). They were so pretty and such a no-fail kids project. What are you doing for eggs this year?

Have a wonderful holiday weekend. I hope you get your fill of chocolate and Peeps.

kisses,
Gabrielle

We usually wait until Holy Saturday to decorate our eggs. The kids really want to dye with red onion skins like the Great-Grandmas. Although that means starting that early in the day & then finishing in the evening, with everything else we have to accomplish tomorrow before our evening dinner it’s going to be interesting. The kids also have some stickers they really want to use on some of their creations.

Those eggs are so cute. I love the flowers. Here are the eggs that we made this year. They were a fun, kid friendly project. Hope you have a great Easter with your family.

I really like how you leave us, each weekend, with a stack of links!! Really awesome links, too :D So, thanks!!

And, I’d read your tutu tutorial, and always wanted to do something like it! So, I made my own brooches using the tutu idea as a base! If you want to take a look, here it is: http://thegraphicbee.blogspot.com/2010/03/make-corsage-brooch.html

I hope you have a happy, happy, happy easter!

ooh, thanks for the tissue paper linkage emily!

we’re about to do our eggs… martha sucked me in with her easter egg spectacular in the latest issue, so we’re going to try to do the whole vinyl/electrical tape and food coloring extravaganza. with a 3 and a 4 year old, i’m sure we’ll all be purple before going to bed this evening! we’ll blend right in tomorrow!

happy easter!

Gabby- Totally unrelated, but every time you write, “Hello Friends!” I automatically put it in D.J. Lance’s voice from Yo Gabba Gabba. Hope your last trimester treats you well!

“I’m on a horse!” We saw that commercial when we watched LOST the other night (on the internet that’s hooked up to our TV because we don’t have a form of cable etc going to our non-tube). Almost makes me miss commercials.
