On Kirtsy This Week

March 18, 2010

What is it about this week? Every morning I wake up and think it’s Friday. At least today, I’m only a day off. : )

Here are some of my favorite kirtsy links from the last week or so. (Kirtsy is a site where anyone can share cool links — I’m one of the co-founders).

-It looks like a real, actual house. And it’s gorgeous.

-A great article on getting kids off the couch and into the great outdoors.

-Do you rsvp — or have you abandoned the practice?

-A post written by a mother who is observing her baby-loving toddler while knowing this daughter is infertile. Heartache!

-Why teenage girls are awesome.

-Photoshoot of a soldier coming home and meeting his baby girl for the first time.

-The best films you’ve never seen.

-Want to receive a fun postcard from all 50 States?

-Does owning less stuff equal having more time?

-The New York Times published a piece about mommy-blogging and the reaction hasn’t been great. Here’s one well-written response.

-I am enough! An invitation from Tracey Clark.

-Yummy. Anthropologie has a new sister brand called Leifsdottir. (That’s where all these neato images came from. Do you like the washed out photography?)

Anything fun you’ve seen on Kirtsy lately? Any links you’ve added to Kirtsy?

I heard about chatroulette.com from a news article I read over the weekend. Needless to say I checked it out and it's full of random strangers chatting one-on-one via web cam. You can almost guarantee you will see inappropriate male bits within seconds of entering their site. It’s not something I recommend to people who are easily offended.

I love that blanket. I had one like that when I was a baby. My mom can not find it. I have my other ones. she kept them for me. I even have clothes too. oh oh oh I think I have a new blog idea. THe things I have from when I was a baby. I will have to look through my hope chest and see what is still there. Love this blog!

I've also heard about chatroulette. I think it sounds pretty scary, especially with kids around. It's a little too risky for kids to play around with.

Nasty surprise when your oldest turns 17 and you suddenly owe $1000.

Ours have been filed and refunds deposited, yay!

I just wish we could get another energy credit in 2010 – oh so much more to improve this old house …

Yes I did already send mine in (the first time I've ever not been late, so I'm proud of myself). refund, refund!

I like washed-out photography in small doses… but that's how I feel about post-processing in general.

Soldiers who come home and meet their kids (or even just see their kids for the first time in months) = SOBFEST! It touches my heart in a way nothing else does!

I like washed-out photography, but it's usually a pretty good sign that the clothes won't be my style. But it's SO pretty!

I feel like this new brand from Anthropology is very similar to what they already offer. Anyone else think so?
