Custom Toy Portrait Giveaway

March 18, 2010

Oh. I love today’s giveaway. Jennifer Maher is offering custom toy portraits for a lucky winner — one 8″x10″ and one 5″x7″ — a total value of $165. Isn’t that fantastic? Two original works of art — they could inspire a whole gallery wall. How does it work: snap a photo of your child’s favorite toy and Jennifer will magically transfer it into high art. For reals.

I love Jennifer’s style and I love the idea of capturing one or two of my child’s favorite objects — capturing a snapshot of their childhood — in a painting. Talk about an heirloom! You know you’ll be handing these pieces of art down to your own children as they put together nurseries for your grandkids. And Jennifer’s prices are totally reasonable for custom art. Take a look.

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment below. The winner will be announced on Monday. Good luck!

Congratulations to Jon and Sarah! You are the lucky winner. Enjoy your paintings.

You'll think I am crazy for entering this giveaway as my kids are 18 and 14. BUT the older they get, the more I am gathering up things from their childhood and reliving the sweet innocent days. I still have their most favorite toys, and it would be wise to have them preserved in a painting rather than keeping them until they are musty!

When I was pregnant with our second daughter we got our first born a baby doll which my husband named Barbara (because he was amused to hear a 17 month old try to roll that off her tongue). Since them Barbara has become a part of our lives. We have photos of her in the fall leaves, she dresses up with the girls for holidays, she goes where we go, etc. Eventually I know she will lose her place in our lives. Our ladies would love a portrait of Barb. I would love it as a long term keepsake. Toy portraits, what a wonderful idea.

We love Steve the giraffe so much he has been in family pictures, and goes everywhere with us. I was so worried about losing him I got a second Steve (Steveposter), and on a whim we found a smaller version, Baby Steve, and finally we added Mickey Mouse to the group. We never go anywhere with out them, it would be great fun to have a painting of the one who started it all.
