Book of the Week: Robot Zot

March 30, 2010

Oscar is in love with Robot Zot. And since the whole family counts themselves fans of Jon Scieszka and David Shannon, this book gets a lot of action at our house.

The basic story: Robot Zot comes to Earth ready to take over, his first attempt is in a suburban kitchen where he mistakes the counter appliances for the enemy. Clever story. Captivating illustrations.

We’ve got it… sitting here from the library. Wish my boy were more into reading, we would have read it by now. We’ll crack it open today!

Great looking blog! I find myself more and more interested in not only the content of blogs but also the design. I’m currently getting my AA in interior design but something tells me that my heart is leading me in the direction of graphic design. Love the logo too! xo claudia

Our favorite by Jon Scieszka and David Shannon is Too Many Toys. I bet we’d like Zot too, their stories are hilariously true and captivating is the perfect word for the illustrations.

BTW, I love the new Design Mom logo and icons!

I love this book and so do the kids at my elementary school – great sound effects to be made!

Plus, when Jon Scieszka does a romance, you know it’s going to be amusing.

What a fun book! Even though I don’t have kids, I still love to pick up a fun children’s book from time to time, and will have to add this to my list!

We are huge David Shannon fans at our house. We even bought spare copies of his books and framed a couple of pages! Love this book!
