Petite Watermelon Slices

July 30, 2009

Something about these tiny watermelon slices (made from jello and lime peels) made me laugh. Perfect for a miniature party. Don’t they look absolutely summery? Find directions at Chocolate on My Cranium.

Thanks for the shout out, Gabrielle! My kids are pros at making these now. They love to serve them at their doll tea parties.

These are cute – they reminded me of these fun watermelon slice cookies we made as kids. My mom and I were just talking about these cookies and how we got the recipe from Seventeen magazine (how funny that your previous post is about Seventeen!).

I couldn't find the original recipe – but this one looks similar. We used mini chocolate chips instead of raisins:

What a brilliant idea – seems like something out of a vintage NY Times cookbook, circa 1950's!

Saw these on HBO about a year ago (or maybe more I think?) and instantly made them. One of those things that just look too much fun to not make :)

Oops, I just realised I typed HBO instead of HAO (How About Orange). LOL.
