Cinnamon Bears

Apparently certain candies are regional? I don't think I saw a cinnamon bear the entire 8 years I was in New York, but they are widely available here.
Happily, I heart cinnamon bears. Which is why, when I came upon the 5 lb bag of them during a midnight run to the grocery store, I said: yes, please.

Five pounds is a lot of cinnamon bears. A lot. If you're having a craving, please stop by so I can share them with you.

We had chocolate fountains at our wedding and we tried cinnamon bears. Confession: I was just going for something a little colorful that would look good with the strawberries and all.

They were delicious!!

But we moved to California just days after the wedding and we can't find cinnabears anywhere! Tragic. They are the one thing always missing at our fondue parties.

They are oh so yummy. Do you have any Turkish Delight? I can only find that in Canada. My relatives send me boxes of it along with yummy Coffee Krisp bars. So happy to hear you've had the chance to taste such yummy red goodness.

Apparently I'm not the first person to say that, just read the rest of the comments. But it's true.

I haven't been able to find them near my home in Houston. I wish I were closer. I'd definitely drop by plus I'd love to see the piano.

Thanks for the invitation ;} and the post!

There are no cinnamon bears here in Ohio and it makes me sad. My sister-in-law sent me some chocolate covered cinnamon bears when I had my 3rd son and that is why she will always be my favorite sister-in-law :).

I am so on your team with the cinnamon bear issue. I love them and I cannot get them here in Jersey. I buy them in bulk everywhere when I go to Utah. Why don't they have them here? I think I need a trip to your region. Chocolate covered ones rock!

I am a cinnamon bear expert and Sweet's Brand are hands down the best in America. They are a Salt Lake company and nothing compares. I guess they do tours of the factory too which is fun for the kids. Check it out next time you are in Salt Lake.

If I found a 5 lb bag of Sweet's Brand cinnamon bears I would be in heaven.

yea, they definitely don't have cinnamon bears here in London. Come to think of it, they don't have anything cinnamon flavored. Pity.

And wow, quite a lot of comments from some pretty passionate cinnamon bear lovers :)

Funny, I thought I was the only one addicted to those BYU candy counter bears. Coupled with pretzels (think salty and sweet) they pulled me through many a study sessions at the old HBLL.

They're TOTALLY regional - I grew up in upstate NY and our grandmother in Utah always sent them to us. The result: my siblings and I all thought Utah was such a magical place...

Blogger Cate said...

of course they have them in nyc! economy candy on the LES has them (as, i'm sure, does dylan's candy bar), but i have gotten them at the many smaller bulk candy shops around town as well. you just have to be a candy fiend (ahem) to search them out.

all that said, are they locally made in utah? 5lbs? girl after my own heart.

In Australia, cinnamon candy is rarely available. We just aren't big on cinnamon (nor on peanut butter/chocolate bars) :(.
