Book of the Week — Charlie Harper. For the Toddler Set.

On Tuesday, I was at
Old Navy looking for a white shirt for Maude to wear to her band concert that night. And what should I happen upon but a whole collection of Charlie Harper goodies. Surprise. And delight.

I want Santa to bring
Charley Harper's ABCs and 123s to 2 year old Betty this year. But I'm also having a crush on his Flash Cards/Floor Puzzle. His Memory Game. And especially on his gorgeous Coloring Book — only $6.95 — something I think older kids would like as well.

The colors in the ABC book have been inspiring to me for paint color ideas.

I have a weakness for alaphabet cards. They came home with me last night! Luckily today, money came from grandma to buy my children christmas gifts! Yay!

I love classic toys. I'm thinking those would be very nice for a future Ms. P gift.
Love your blog.

I bought this for myself but then I had a baby. He's only a month old but he Stares and stares at it. The strong colors and contrast work wonderfully for his fledgling eyes.

Your blog seems popular, so maybe you could plug this site http://www.letssaythanks.com/Home1024.html where people can pick a design and a message and xerox prints them off for free and sends them to a soldier overseas. Nice fun and easy and free way to say thanks for their service.

I read this post last night and just had to stop by Old Navy while I was out and about today. I ended up buying the flash cards for one nephew, the wooden puzzle for another, and the memory game for my own kids. Loooove them all (the Charlie Harper items AND the children)! Thanks for the tip. Your blog is terrific. I must admit I am usually a lurker (sorry!).

This is not the first time I've seen this book featured on a blog. I think I'll have to buy it for my own children's book collection.
