Great Kids’ Room Finds — by Guest Mom Jane Maynard

My two sweet girls have a super sweet bedroom. I thought I’d quickly share my top finds for their space.

Play Mat.

Love this play mat from Ikea. It’s super cute in a boy or girl room, doesn’t slide around and is only $14.99!! You can’t beat it.

Table & Chairs.

Santa brought Cate a table and chair set two years ago. He asked me to do some research and I found ChildrensTablesandChairs.com. Their stuff is cute, high quality and not much more expensive than Target or Wal-Mart. Santa was very pleased. He gave Cate this set in cherry.

Toddler Bedding.

I am SUPER excited about this find. If you’ve ever shopped for bedding for a toddler bed, you feel my pain. Everything is, well, cheeeee-zeeee. Wandering around Marshalls one day I found the perfect solution. Throw blankets! They’re just the right size, and you can find some really pretty patterns. Plus, if you’re lucky like me, you’ll find a matching sham! Throw in a white toddler sheet set from Babies R Us and you’re set!

Cute finds.

I just read your post on Silicon Valley Moms "too happy to be comfortable" - that totally resonated with me. I have my Stegnar books on my shelf and am going to dust 'em off. Thanks.

ps. Do you know if there's a Sacramento Moms site like SV?

oh the miles that have been driven on that IKEA rug. I don't know how girls are but my boys can play on it for hours. :-)

queen scarlett - I'm so happy you liked my SV post. stegner is so amazing. happy to hear you're a fan. I know that the SV Moms group of sites does not have a Sacramento site...but they're adding cities regularly so keep checking in!

Love this post, thanks for sharing the table/chair site.

Can you please list where you found the little white bed?

I'm with a pp, I simply *must* know where you got that sweet little bed. My twins aren't ready for beds quite yet, but I've been searching for something like this so that I'm ready.

the bed was from a local children's furniture store in San Diego (I think it was called "Children's Furniture Store" or something equally inspired). I don't even know the brand name of the bed...nothing I recognized. but here's how I found it, which hopefully will be helpful. I visited several kids furniture stores in the area - very few of them even carry toddler beds, and they usually only have a few. anyway, this one was around $150...but I could have bought a floor model for $100, so I'm sure that could be an option as well.

I didn't have any luck with Babies R Us and PBK didn't seem to be carrying anything right now (although it would have been too expensive there anyway)

bottom line - check out the kids furniture stores - I think that is the best bet! - hope that helps!

Ikea has curtains and a small fleece blanket (throw) that match. I used red gingham for crib with blanket and now use original crib sheet with Ikea throw on toddler bed. So far, I could've put on a king sized x-ray vest and my daughter would kick it off.
We also have the mat! The rest of the stuff is antique or junk. The best addition is an old table and chairs-red and white that my dad refinished. I'd add pictures but I don't know how.
I've enjoyed your posts, thank you.

I am finally home from traveling and I just crawled under my daughter's bed to get the brand for you all. :)

It is the sleigh toddler bed in white from Million Dollar Baby. They have two other toddler bed models which are also completely adorable.
