Diaper & Wipes Case — by Guest Mom Jane Maynard

This is one of my all-time favorite mommy “gadgets” so I just HAD to share it with you.
My friend Marie’ made this diaper/wipes case for me and I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. I am not kidding when I say I was using a brown lunch bag to carry a few diapers and a wipes case in my purse before I received this beautiful gift.

So, how can you get one of your very own? Well, they do sell similar products like this at Babies R Us. But if you are crafty, you can really make something cute, and patterns are popping up everywhere. For inspiration, here are other cases Marie’ has made. And my artist-friend Melissa made this seriously stunning “poopy clutch” based on a Martha Stewart pattern for something completely different. Talk about creative.

Regardless of how you get your hands on one of these puppies, you’ll be glad you did.

The "poopy clutch" link isn't working, and I would love to see what your friend Melissa is making. Can you fix that link or just post what it is here?

Jane, my mom, Julie Muelleck, was great friends with your mom when you guys lived in Salt Lake. We came to your house in NJ when I was in high school. It's neat to see all the great things you're doing--I forwarded these links to my mom and she loved reading them.

I can see another use for the “poopy clutch,” something to help keep my son out of the wipes; he is quite adept at emptying an entire container in short order. Also, if it wasn’t working before as mentioned, I had no trouble getting the link to work.

That's cool. Why didn't they have such stylish stuff when my kids were little?

There's another link, www.diapeesandwipees.com, that I found through a magazine a while back (can't remember now which one). They have the same concept with cute fabrics. Wish I had known about them when I was expecting my daughter! Now she's out of diapers, so I'll have to wait until next time. :) Great idea!

Moms everywhere will be pea-green with envy over that leather bag and case. Actually, I'm not a mom and I'm jealous of that leather bag! Lovely.
