Flip Video Camera
Have you seen these Flip Video cameras? I saw one on the Florida trip and I am coveting. Flip is a super straightforward video camera with no extra buttons or options to adjust, so you don't have to think too hard (that's my kind of technology). No video tapes or cords either. The cameras are small and sturdy.
Ben Blair grew up making super-cool movies with his friends whenever they had spare time and I'm thinking a camera like this would be a perfect way to introduce kids to moviemaking. Best part is the price: less than $120.

We have one and love it. We use it about 100 times as of as our handycam!
We got one and love it too but they aren't very compatible with Macs, it takes some patience.
Is it a phone too? Or just a camera.
Oops! Didn't realized I'd called it a phone. Fixed.
Just purchased a Flip in pink & I love how easily my kids can/do use it, capturing their own little essences just how I had hoped.
A battery recharger is a must to accompany it.
I'm hoping the compact size will make it less obtrusive, too, letting me capture the new baby's sweetness without the distraction of my huge old camcorder.
After lugging the videocamera around for years, this is fabulous! Nice mother's day gift from the kids?! :-)

We have one and use it exclusively with our MacBook. Suddenly, after having a much more expensive handycam for years and never using it, we're capturing and and sharing little momentos of our lives all the time. It's great!
I love my Flip... the only problem I have is that in almost every video I can hear someone near me saying things like "What is that? Are you videotaping?" People are in awe of how small it is and can't believe it is a video camera.
I finally broke down and got one.
Simply put, it's great!
You're not working in HD, but for web/youtube/emails/archiving family-friends/ or in car cameras (I do a little auto racing)
It's awesome!
